Schedule A TourWelcome to the Primrose School of Rogers, proudly serving the Twin Cities northwest metro communities of Rogers, St. Michael, Otsego, Dayton and surrounding areas. Laura and Scott Johnsrud are the local Owners and are thrilled to be part of the Primrose family, which operates 400+ schools nationwide with 17 in the Twin Cities metro area (and growing).
Laura and Scott live in Maple Grove with their two children, Taylor and Zach. We are avid fans of our kids’ sports teams (hockey, soccer, dance), and stay actively involved through both business and community endeavors. While our children are now teenagers, our family is well versed in the challenges associated with finding ongoing quality childcare where our children could thrive. As long time corporate employees, we have experienced the frustrations (and even distress) created by having to balance demanding careers with the desire for our children to have the most positive and optimal experience possible during their time outside of our care. Like all parents, we wanted our children to be safe, loved and nurtured. We wanted them to not only grow in their learning, but to also experience a fun and happy environment each day. Over many years, we experienced options that provided some of these components, but never the optimal experience incorporating all of these elements that we felt were so critical for our young children.
As Primrose entered the Twin Cities market and began to flourish and grow their presence, we were fortunate to become aware of the brand and its mission through personal family connections. Since Primrose has been so well received in our Twin Cities communities, we couldn’t help but take notice and wanted to know more. The belief that “Who children become is as important as what they know” is at the core of the exclusive Primrose Balanced Learning® curriculum. Our time-tested and research-informed approach balances purposeful play with nurturing guidance from teachers to encourage curiosity, creativity, confidence and compassion. We deliver more than a curriculum; it’s a life-changing early learning experience for children and their families.
We are so excited about the children and families that we serve, the community that we are part of, and the exceptional academic and character building programs that our children experience. We welcome you to visit us anytime and look forward to growing our local Primrose family!
Our Balanced Learning approach to child care makes us different than an ordinary Rogers daycare. Right down the street from North Community Park and the Hampton Inn & Suites, we are conveniently located on 135th Avenue North.

At Primrose, your child will get more than an infant daycare experience. Our teachers help your child develop and grow, building one skill upon another, which is why we are the leader in infant child care.
We love having the Lekie's at Primrose. When asked about their experience, they had the following to say:
To better meet the individual needs of every child, we’re proud to implement Ages & Stages Questionnaires® (ASQ®-3 and ASQ®:SE-2) in Primrose schools across the country.
Laura and Scott Johnsrud are more than excited about bringing Primrose School of Rogers to the community. We are at the site often with great anticipation for our early 2020 opening. It will be here before we know it!
Each Primrose school is held to high standards of safety and cleanliness while maintaining a caring and nurturing environment where children can thrive.
Construction is progressing quickly on our building! Playground equipment is being installed this week. Thanks to our construction team for working hard despite the chilly weather.
There’s no question that parents want their preschoolers to grasp the basics of colors, numbers and letters to foster a lifetime of learning.
Things are moving. Well on our way to an early 2020 opening!
It might seem odd to think about your preschooler exploring data analysis and algebra.
It's a fact: children learn better when they are engaged. That's why purposeful play and nurturing guidance from teachers are key components of Balanced Learning. See how this time-tested approach with a strong emphasis on life skills and character development can help your child develop and excel.
