We are thrilled to have been selected as Primrose’s Family of the Month. August is a special month for our family, as it is when month our first-born entered this world and our little family began. We are a family of four now – Steve, Michelle, Reed and Abby. Steve moved to Georgia from Ladd, IL in 2006 and I arrived a few years later in 2010 leaving Pittsburgh, PA behind. We originally lived in Gwinnett County but moved to Marietta in 2013 and currently reside in the amazing community of Addie’s Pond. Steve works in Sandy Springs as a Network Manager for a global cold storage logistics company and I am a Vice President of Compliance for a National Title Underwriter. Btw, I work for home so please excuse my not always put together look during drop offs and pick-ups. Lol! Our eldest child Stephen Reed Epley III, who has always gone by Reed and does not know himself as any other name-is four years old and from moment one has been sweet, compassionate, caring, smart, silly and quite the little entertainer. Reed will be easily spotted as one of, if not the smallest boy in the Pre-K class. He will most likely have a smile on his face and will be more than happy to give you a hug if you would like. Our youngest, Abigail Virgina Ann, is two years old and is our sassy, smart, silly, sweet and quite the daredevil. She loves having conversations and will tell you exactly what she thinks and wants, and will not waver from it. You can spot her in the Early Preschool 2, with her light blonde hair and bright blue eyes and just like her brother-quite tiny. We always joke around that we make small humans. As I am sure most of you feel the same, we are always on the go with gymnastics, soccer and scheduling activities with friends or local venues to keep the kids active. For instance, we have been members of the Atlanta Aquarium for the past 5 years and love just randomly going there to walk around and explore. When we are not doing that we love to take family vacations to the beach, Disney World and other random destinations. We especially love to visit our families up North and try to visit as much as our schedules allow. When you find us at home-you will probably think we are complete goofballs because we all enjoy being silly. Especially our little two peas in a pod, Reed and Abby who are as close as can be.
So there you have it – that is us… Now what brought us to Primrose. We had some concerns with the management at our old School and in particular, a new teacher who was not at all caring or loving that we noticed was affecting Reed emotionally; but we were so close to most of the staff, management and especially the kids, we had a hard time making a final decision to change schools. Reed and Abby started May 27th, and truly from that moment on our lives became simpler. Reed immediately took to his class and teachers. He was so excited to share us what he learned that day and we noticed his typical exaggerated and imaginative stories, became even more detailed. Every day we ask him what he learned today and his new answer is an enthusiastic “Science!” There are countless facts I could relay that he has learned since he has been here, but to us, the most important part is that our happy go-lucky little boy is happy at school again, loves his teachers and awesomely enough-has made some terrific new friends and has also welcomed some of his close friends from his old school! Abby took a little longer to adjust to her new class and believe that is mainly because her old teacher was also a family friend that she was really close to, she also just may be a skeptic at heart. However, after a small amount of time she too fell in love with her class and her teachers. We have noticed an increase in independence in her and she now fully says her ABC’s and can count to 10. From moment one, our experience at Primrose has been a positive one. The entire staff have been welcoming, loving and show genuine care of each family. The curriculum is outstanding; it is wonderful balance of learning and fun. We cannot thank each of you enough for all that you do for our family and for also welcoming many of our friends. I will and have told anyone who will listen-how amazing this school is, because we honestly could not be happier that we have joined the Primrose family! From the bottom of our hearts, thank you Nicole and the entire team at Primrose!
