Primrose School would love to meet your family.
Contact UsCalm Waters Center for Children and Families, Central Oklahoma’s dedicated grief support center offering free grief support services to children and families, received a $2,500 first-time donation from Primrose School of NW Oklahoma City. The gift was a result of Primrose’s August 8th Back to School Bash in Chisholm Creek, Northwest Oklahoma City and was made in memory of student Bristol Scholte.
Primrose traditionally holds an annual fundraiser and the event’s proceeds are shared between a local nonprofit and the Primrose Foundation. Past recipients include OkCity Crisis Nursery, Hearts for Hearing and Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital.
“A child’s environment outside of school absolutely affects their life inside their school,” said Sarah Albahadily, Primrose Franchise Owner. “Processing trauma at any age is important for children to succeed. We love the services Calm Waters offers and how they provide mental health services to children and their families.”
Primrose’s Back to School Bash, a ticketed, outdoor carnival-themed event included children’s activities and raffle and auction items, sponsored by Primrose parents and local businesses.
“Grief produces a series of emotions that can disturb daily functions, including the ability to learn in school,” said Erin Engelke, Executive Director at Calm Waters. “It’s important to develop healthy coping skills early on to aid children in being more productive and develop healthy relationships.”
