Meet Divya and Jai Singh – proud Franchise Owners of Primrose School of Avon, Primrose School of Westlake, and coming soon Primrose School of North Ridgeville. Longtime residents of Cleveland, the Singh’s began their entrepreneurial journey in 2011. They are thrilled to bring the Primrose experience offering premier early education and care to families in the Westlake community.
Divya and Jai have three daughters – Baani, Myra and Noor. They first discovered Primrose in 2011 when they were searching for high-quality education and care providers for their oldest daughter Baani. After learning about Primrose through a family member, they toured the nearest school at the time, more than two hours away, and immediately fell in love with the curriculum and culture. Recognizing that the community they wanted to raise their children in did not offer what Primrose could offer, they made the decision to open their own Primrose school. Baani and Myra have attended and Noor attends Primrose School of Avon.
Divya and Jai, middle school sweethearts, are originally from India and relocated to the United States to pursue higher education. Coming from a cultural background that greatly values education, the Singh’s knew that opening a Primrose school would give them the opportunity to offer a high-quality preschool education not only for their own children but also for the children and families of the greater Avon area.
Prior to becoming Franchise Owners, Divya always had a strong passion to work with children. She attended Cleveland State University and earned a master’s degree in occupational therapy and is also a licensed occupational therapist with specializations in pediatric and geriatric therapy. Jai works in technology sales and earned his master’s degree in computer science from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago.
“After touring a Primrose school and learning about the impact the exclusive Balanced Learning® curriculum has on a child’s cognitive, social and emotional development, we immediately knew Primrose was the right fit for our family and for our community,” said Divya. “Our children are our inspiration for this school and we not only look forward to providing them with the best education, but also introducing Primrose to Avon families and offering their children the same high-quality education and care.”
The Singh’s goal is to offer an atmosphere where children can grow their Active Minds, Healthy Bodies and Happy Hearts® and provide parents with peace of mind knowing their children are well cared for and receiving a premier education. At the school, Divya will handle the day-to-day operations working closely with parents, children and staff. Jai will also play an active role in supporting the new school, while continuing his career in technology sales.

Lately, everyone seems to be talking about STEAM. It’s a hot topic in the world of education and in the business community, but what does STEAM have to do with your preschooler?
Our new exclusive Harmony & Heart® program integrates our proprietary music and books in a variety of thoughtful ways each day. Through learning about music, while simultaneously being exposed to concepts in math, language, and character development, your child will grow as a musician, a student, and a person.
When determining the best child care option for your family, tuition cost inevitably plays an important role. But it’s only one of the factors parents must consider, which is why researching and selecting child care options can feel like such an overwhelming decision.
Each Primrose school is held to high standards of safety and cleanliness while maintaining a caring and nurturing environment where children can thrive.
Not sure where to start in your child care search? This time in life is full of so many decisions – from which diaper brand is best to which pediatrician to call – and all of them can be nerve wracking. For answers to questions like, "when should I start looking for child care?" we have a checklist to help with your daycare or preschool search.
There’s no question that parents want their preschoolers to grasp the basics of colors, numbers and letters to foster a lifetime of learning.
There’s no greater joy than making a positive difference in the life of a child. At Primrose, we’re honored to have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the more than 50,000 children in our schools, and it’s a responsibility we don’t take lightly.
It might seem odd to think about your preschooler exploring data analysis and algebra.

My name is Amber Schmitz and I am truly thrilled to have accepted the Assistant Director position at Primrose School of North Ridgeville. I have worked at Primrose Schools for nearly 6 years including Primrose School of Avon, Primrose School of Westlake and now Primrose School of North Ridgeville. I have held various roles such as being a Pre-Kindergarten Teacher and Education Coach. I will continue using the knowledge I have acquired in all of my roles and bring my experiences to Primrose School of North Ridgeville. I can not thank Primrose Schools enough for providing me with many opportunities to grow in my education career. I graduated from Kent State University with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (K-3) in 2015. After teaching in the classroom for a few years I soon realized that I wanted to move forward in the Leadership/Administration aspect of Education. In this role I am able to branch out in many different areas of Education and help children and families in many different ways. I recently married my now Husband, Kyle, in Aug. 2021 and we live in Westlake. We love going on various adventures and one of our favorite activities that we enjoy is Kayaking down the Rocky River river. Anything that is family oriented is very important to us. I am excited to begin my new adventure with you at Primrose School of North Ridgeville. I look forward to working with my new team and meeting all of the wonderful families!
