Our Kindergarteners have been busy sharpening their engineer skills this summer! With the help of a mom at our school and her team of field engineers, our Kindergarten classes used wood and tools to construct three free mini libraries – one for our school and two to donate to schools in our community.
Throughout the week leading up to the project, children read stories and learned about engineering through songs and activities. Students were thrilled to see their hard work reflected in the finished products and help encourage a love for reading. We can’t wait to fill our mini library and share books with our neighbors!
This design project is just one example of our Balanced Learning® approach in action – children learn and practice concepts like science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM), literacy and more every day through play and exploration.
