Young children are naturally curious about differences - why some people celebrate certain holidays or why another child’s skin is lighter or darker than their own. At Primrose, children are encouraged to explore these physical and cultural differences that make people alike and different. We partner with parents to nurture children to be accepting and respectful of different forms of diversity.
This month on our Pointers for Parents blog, early childhood specialist, Lynn Wonders, shares four ways parents can help children understand and embrace differences. We also offer an activity parents can do at home to help children recognize what makes them unique - an important step in learning about diversity.
