Hello and thank you for visiting our Website. My name is Stacey Alexander and I am the owner of The Primrose School of Ken Caryl. It is truly my honor to own this phenomenal school, and to be a part in the finest care and early education available.
A little about me:
I am first and foremost the very proud father of three amazing boys, I have twin 12 year olds and a 9 year old. I have lived in Colorado most of my life – minus my college years and several years running a small business in Florida. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of New Mexico in 1992. I was also a member of the Men’s Gymnastics team at UMN and after finishing my competitive career I coached gymnastics for several years and directed a private athletic training facility here in Colorado.
My journey to Primrose:
All of my sons have been enrolled at Primrose when they were younger, and attended Primrose for 3 years. When I first decided to seek care for my children I looked at several places and was not comfortable leaving my babies at any of them. After three or four bad experiences touring daycare centers, I walked into a Primrose; as soon as I walked in and met the Director and staff, I knew it was the place my children would be cared for and safe. A few years later, I was very fortunate to come to a place in my personal and professional life where I could make a career change for what will be my last long term venture. It took me quite some time to decide what I wanted to do next, but as I was walking out of my son’s Primrose one afternoon, it hit me that I would love more than anything to be involved in a place that cared for and had a positive impact on young people, as well as be able to give parents the same feeling of comfort and peace of mind that I experienced when I took my children to Primrose. So a short six months after that afternoon, I purchased this wonderful place called The Primrose School of Ken Caryl.
I am very fortunate to be able to partner with one of the smartest, well-educated and successful young women I have ever known, my sister. Dr. Heather Haugen is currently the CEO of the Breakaway Group here in Colorado, her company helps healthcare organizations improve care for patients. Heather is also a professor at the University of Colorado Medical School where she teaches and mentors doctoral students. Although Heather is not involved in the day-to-day operations of our school, she is an amazing resource for me and our Primrose team. I consult with Heather regularly and she is involved in all of the major decisions regarding our school. Heather’s passion for education and life-long learning as well as her experience as the mom of two young girls makes her a phenomenal asset to our school.
