Schedule A TourPrimrose School at Johns Creek has always been dedicated to supporting every aspect of our students’ development, which includes nurturing Healthy Bodies, as well as Active Minds and Happy Hearts. We would like to share with you how we develop our menus as a part of our mission to support our Healthy Bodies initiative.
Our menus incorporate foods such as fresh broccoli, yogurt granola parfaits, and homemade zucchini bread right here in our school. All our menus meet or exceed the USDA’s recommendations (www.ChooseMyPlate.gov) for school meal programs. Ms. Jeanie, our professionally trained chef, makes sure to implement menus that focus on nutrient-dense foods such as lean proteins, whole grains, and fresh fruits and vegetables. Our menu is always posted on the hallway bulletin board outside our kitchen and in all our classrooms.
Ms. Jeanie is a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu with a degree in Culinary Arts. Throughout her professional career she has worked at the Ritz Carlton Atlanta, Cherokee Country Club, and is an active volunteer with Share Our Strength/No Kid Hungry Organization. Ms. Jeanie has been a part of our Primrose School for over six years and creates new and exciting menus for our school each week. She does a wonderful job of incorporating ingredients into our menu that get our students excited for meal time.
As always, our goal is to serve the most nutritious and flavorful foods, so your child can grow up healthy and strong. Of course, we make any adjustments necessary for children who have allergies and/or food restrictions.Ms. Jeanie prepares vegetarian options for our students who do not eat meat, to make sure they are able to take advantage of different varieties of proteins.
Parents also get opportunities to have Ms. Jeanie’s delicious food through samples made just for parents at pick-up and with our “Parent Appreciation Dinners.” Throughout the year, as a thank you, Ms. Jeanie makes dinner for our families, at no charge, to take home and enjoy. Some of our favorites are Spaghetti and Chili!
