    Area Director

    Mrs. Blackwell is the Area Director for Primrose School of Walnut Creek and Primrose School of Grand Peninsula. She began her Primrose career eight years ago as a teacher in the three-year-old classroom. She has now been a director for seven years, with the last three being the Area Director. Before joining Primrose, Mrs. Blackwell ran a registered in-home daycare for 15 years. She whole-heartedly believes in the Primrose vision of delivering the best and most trusted early childhood education and childcare services for families across America. She is the model for treating each family and child with integrity and fairness, and she serves each family with enthusiasm. We are lucky to have Mrs. Blackwell to lead our school.

    My hometown is Clinton, MS . I have had my director’s certification since 2012 and have worked at Primrose since 2009. My favorite food is pasta and my favorite children’s book is Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. I have been in childcare for 14 years.

    You see, at Primrose Schools we’re more than a team of professional teachers and child care education specialists. We’re also a family, and we care for every child as though he or she was our own.     My name is Mrs. Franklin and I am the Director here at Primrose School of Grand Peninsula. I reside in Grand Prairie, with my husband of 13 years and my three children. My experience in the early childhood education field spans almost 16 years and I’ve worked with most of the corporate licensed childcare facilities throughout the Arlington and Grand Prairie area. Throughout my career, I've held a variety of positions including lead teacher, trainer and mentor. I started my journey with Primrose in May of 2005 at the Walnut Creek location as an assistant, then lead teacher, mentor and then finally transferred to Grand Peninsula as the Curriculum Director and finally as the Director when this wonderful opportunity became available in November 2008. In my spare time, I enjoy shopping, reading, basketball games and going to church. I truly believe that children are the future and it is our duty as educators to prepare them for the world ahead of them with love, nurturing and respect.

    My name is Ms. Gonzalez. I am a graduate of Waltrip High School and knew instantly after I had my first child that I loved to care for children. Becoming a mother is an amazing experience and caring for children is a blessing. Everything is new and exciting to children as they grow and develop and I enjoy watching that transformation in them. Teaching children new things is my passion and being a teacher at Primrose gives me the opportunity to do just that. My caring and patient demeanor is what I believe makes me a great teacher and if I could teach a child one thing, it would be to always be an honest person no matter what.

    My name is Ms. Santellan and I am the Education Coach. I am a graduate of Lake Ridge High School and the University of Texas at Arlington. When I was in the fifth grade I got my first experience teaching and caring for children as a babysitter for my family friends and neighbors. I have over eleven years’ experience teaching children and quickly realized that teaching is my passion because I enjoy making a positive impact on the lives of my students. My caring and engaging personality is what I believe makes me a great teacher. If I could teach a child one thing, it would be that it is ok to be unique. I believe that each child is unique and that’s what makes them so special. Teaching at Primrose has been a pleasure because I enjoy the great relationships formed with students and families.

    My name is Ms. Cameron. I am the lead teacher in the Infant I classroom. I attended Oral Roberts University. I have 7 years of childcare experience; my first experience in childcare was in a after school program my senior year of High School. Teaching little ones is an honor for me. I love watching their faces light up when they have reached one of their many milestones. I love cheering them on and encouraging to grow in all areas. My high level of patience and immense love for children makes me a great teacher. I believe every child is a gift and deserves to be treated as such. If I could child a child one thing, it would be that they are always loved and valued. I love teaching at Primrose because it prides itself in creating a friendly and nurturing atmosphere for all children.

    My name is Ms. Jeffery and I am the assistant teacher in the Infant I classroom. My experience with children spans almost 37 years. I started out at the age of 12 years old babysitting for family, friends and neighbors and later started my career working in local facilities in the Ft. Worth area. I love to teach because I believe that all children are a precious gift from God. Seeing their faces light up when they recognize you, the love they give you and the care and nurturing I can give them is the greatest. I really love my job and look forward to coming to work because of the sweet babies.

    My name is Ms. Brown and I am the assistant teacher in the Infant 2 classroom. I began my first experience three years ago when I joined the child development elective while in Sam Houston High School. Babysitting for family and friends also helped me develop the skills necessary to be successful in this area. Both experiences taught me about positive communication and also gave me the social skills to be able to relate to children and their families. I am a great teacher because I enjoy building bonds with children help helping them to learn and grow. If I could teach a child one thing, it would be to always have confidence in themselves to achieve their dreams. I look forward to meeting you and learning more about you and your child.

    My name is Ms. Galvan and I am a graduate of Cedar Hill High School. I began teaching children at my church daycare a few years ago. I enjoy teaching because children are so much fun to be around and I enjoy watching them grow and learn new things every day. What makes me a great teacher is the level of patience and the freedom I allow them to be themselves. If I could teach a child one thing, it would be to always listen to your parents and teachers and to always have respect for each other. Teaching at Primrose has been a positive experience for me so far, because of the friendly environment for the children and the families at this school.

    My name is Ms. Henderson, and I am the assistant teacher in the Early Preschool Classroom. I am a graduate of MacArthur High School and began my first experience caring for children as I would babysit my nieces and nephews on the weekends. Making a connection with children brings me joy and for the last 8 years, I have enjoyed working in this field. Helping students to learn new things is what brings me the most joy and is what I believe makes me a great teacher. If I could teach a child one thing, it would be to have manners and to respect each other. Teaching at Primrose has been a positive experience for me because of the family atmosphere and the friendliness of the employees.

    Early Preschool Afternoon Assistant Teacher

    My name is Ms. Fraute and I am the afternoon assistant teacher in the Early Preschool classroom. I am a graduate of Lake Ridge High School and I am currently a student at UTA pursuing a degree in pediatric nursing. My first experience caring for children began eight years ago when I was employed as a nanny for a sweet family. I love to teach because seeing the children gain a new understanding is very fulfilling for me. My patience and understanding of children in general is what I believe makes me a great teacher. If I could teach a child one thing, it would be to have respect for themselves and others. Teaching at Primrose has been a very positive experience and I enjoy the diversity of the children and staff at the school.

    I am a graduate of Booker T Washington High School and also attended Houston Community College. My first experience teaching kids began when I would babysit for family and friends as a teenager on the weekends. My love for children grew out of that experience and I realized and truly believe that teaching is an honor and a great responsibility as well. What makes me a great teacher is my ability to be observant and nurturing while respecting them as I learn more about their various personalities. I truly enjoy the feeling I get watching them grow and understand new things I am teaching them. If I could teach a child one thing, it would be to respect each other and their differences.

    My name is Ms. Sanchez and I am the lead teacher in the Preschool Pathways classroom. I am a graduate of Arlington Collegiate High School and I’m currently a student at Tarrant County Community College. Making a difference in a child’s life is a great feeling and just knowing that I can put a smile on their faces brings me joy. I enjoy building connections with children, because I know that they will be able to trust me and come to me about anything. My good listening skills and the ability to multitask is what I believe makes me a great teacher. If I could teach a child one thing, it would be to treat each other with respect and to accept everyone. I enjoy teaching at Primrose because I love seeing the bright and smiling faces of each child when they enter the classroom.

    My name is Ms. Wilson and I am the afternoon assistant teacher in the Preschool classroom. I am a graduate of Hampton Preparatory High School and began my first experience teaching children five years ago as an instructor for a licensed afterschool program. Teaching is my passion because I have a love for learning as well as a strong desire to see children reach their potential. I believe I am a great teacher because I have the ability to reach children where they are. Always doing my best to instill the drive for self-improvement is very important to me and I try to pour this into each one of my students. If I could teach a child one thing, it would be to love themselves and that anything can be achieved with confidence; the sky’s the limit! I look forward to working with all the children and families at Primrose and believe the student-centered environment with the common goal of delivering the best education possible is the key to success of every child at this school.

    Ms. Ware is the lead teacher in Pre-K and comes to us with 23 years of teaching experience. She loves teaching as it gives her the opportunity to help students learn and grow from someone who accepts them for who they are and will build upon each student’s individual abilities. The Primrose character she relates most to is Og the Bookworm because she loves to read to her students to help increase their vocabulary and stimulate their imagination. In her free time she enjoys crafts, reading, and spending time with her family and at church.

    My name is Ms. Roman. I attended H. Grady Spruce High School in Pleasant Grove. I have 3 years of teaching experience; the first of which was as an assistant teacher with toddlers. I love to see the joy in children’s faces when they learn something new from me- it is incredibly rewarding, and I enjoy learning from the children. My patience and attentiveness and desire to learn new things makes me a great teacher. If I could teach children one thing, it would be kindness-the world needs more love. I love teaching at Primrose because of atmosphere is so friendly and the kids are awesome and welcoming.

    My name is Ms. Cousins and I am the lead teacher in the PreKindergarten II classroom. I attended Michigan State University where I earned my bachelor’s degree and also attended Wayne State Graduate School where I studied business and education. My first experience teaching came when I began working at my church’s nursery. I enjoy teaching because I get to share first time experiences with the children and help them learn in new ways. What makes me a great teacher is my belief that children can do whatever they are determined to do if we just give them a little help. My role is to inspire, nurture and love them. In the words of Kid President “Be a somebody who makes everybody feel like somebody.” If I could teach a child one thing it would be “Skills get you in the door but character will keep you in the room”. I love teaching at Primrose because I get to be a child and the students get to remain children as they continue to learn.

    As a family with both parents working outside the home, Sherman and his wife were unable to find a quality child care facility with an educational environment that met the standards they were looking for. Soon thereafter they were introduced to Primrose Schools and discovered the emphasis they have in education, health, and the well-being of preschool age children. Realizing this would be a great fit for their family as well as others, they opened their first Primrose in Mansfield in 2001 (Primrose School of Walnut Creek). In 2007 they opened their second Primrose located in Grand Prairie (Primrose School of Grand Peninsula), and opened their third location in Arlington (Primrose School of Southwest Arlington) in February of 2017. Sherman, his wife Jaime, and their five children reside in Mansfield. Their children range in age from 15 to 21, all of whom attended Primrose. Sherman & Jaime are on-site each day at the schools to make sure everything is operating smoothly. When not at the schools, you can usually find them with family and friends, either at a sporting event or traveling.
