I'm Shelby; I'm 23 years old and I graduated from the University of Tennessee in August 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. People always ask children what they want to be when they grow up. I gave many answers, but my Gran always knew I'd be a teacher. She tells me all the time, "You'd line your dolls up and read them a story or teach them a dance. You're a natural teacher!" (: If anyone knows me, they know I love my dear old Gran, but while she knew my path, I had to learn it the hard way. While I always found ways to teach I've had a fascination with psychology since the 7th grade. So- when I entered college still unsure of what I wanted to be when I grew up I naturally pursued that path. I began my journey with many questions and came out with all the answers except one: "What do I want to be when I grow up?" With that in mind I was working at FedEx when I exited school, and 2 days after graduation I got promoted! I spent one year there but I knew it wasn't my forever career. One day i wrote down everything I wanted out of a career, and then we have Primrose. Primrose has been the biggest blessing and I'm so honored to be part of this Primrose Family! I now know that I was put on this earth to love and nurture children (yes, yes... just as Gran says I am.) I love being a teacher but my other hobbies include knitting, crocheting, upcycling, (turning old furniture into new creations), reading, Netflixing, organizing (yes I'm the nerd who would rather go to Office Max than a clothing store), and hanging out with all my friends and family.
Hello! We are the Mynheir Family! Our daughter is Molly Beth and she is in EPS I with Ms. Erin and Ms. Tawana. Hannah is originally from Wilmington, North Carolina, and Matt is originally from Charleston, West Virginia. Hannah has a degree in Elementary Education and works for Knox County Schools as a Behavior Liaison and trainer for Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports. Matt works for Medartis, an orthopedic implant company specializing in upper extremity trauma. Molly Beth's great-grandfather, Papa Gene, and his dog, George, also live with us. Molly Beth actually shares a birthday with Papa! We also have a sweet chocolate lab named Bruester, and a one-eyed cat named Herman. As a family we enjoy spending time outside enjoying all that East Tennessee has to offer. Matt and I both enjoy skiing and look forward to Molly Beth joining us on the slopes this year! We joined the Primrose family in January 2015 when Hannah returned to work full-time. We fell in love with the space, the staff, and most importantly the balanced curriculum. We love that Molly Beth is learning so much and will be well-prepared for the rigors of kindergarten, but is also being given ample time to play and discover to enhance her social-emotional learning. It has been a true joy watching her teachers and the entire staff at Primrose who embrace her spirited personality and help guide her everyday.
Primrose School of Farragut loves having a healthy menu that all of our friends enjoy!
Happy Birthday Og!
