Claudia Macon (pictured left): I graduated from Old Dominion University with a B.S. in Finance, and a M.B.A. degree. I have spent the past 26 years working in higher education at Tidewater Community College, the second largest community college in Virginia. Additionally, I also proudly serve as a Captain in the United States Navy Reserves, with 28 years of service. I am a Board Member of the Great Bridge/Hickory Family YMCA and a Member of the Chesapeake Chamber Women's Division. I manage the school's business administration and educational curriculum.
Tonya Gill (pictured right): I graduated from Virginia Wesleyan College with a B.A. in Business. After nineteen (19) years of dedicated service, many of those years serving the Chesapeake Community, I left a long term position with the United Way of South Hampton Roads as Senior Director of Resource Development to become the onsite owner of the Cahoon Commons location. I am an Executive Board Member of the Chesapeake Chamber of Commerce, Board Member of the Great Bridge/Hickory Family YMCA, Member of the Chesapeake Chamber Women's Division, Chesapeake Public School Career & Technology Center Advisory Board Member and Board Member of the Chesapeake Economic Development Authority. My Primrose responsibilities include managing the school's marketing, enrollment experience, and daily operations.
We aren't just a daycare in Chesapeake, we are a premier early education and child care experience for children and families. We are conveniently located, just minutes down the road from the Edinburgh North Shopping Center, on Carmichael Way.

Our Balanced Learning® approach weaves in character development and life skills into daily learning experiences because we believe who children become is as important as what they know.
Please join us on Friday, July 1st, 2022 at 3:30pm for our Red, White, & Blue Parade!
To better meet the individual needs of every child, we’re proud to implement Ages & Stages Questionnaires® (ASQ®-3 and ASQ®:SE-2) in Primrose schools across the country.
Our new exclusive Harmony & Heart® program integrates our proprietary music and books in a variety of thoughtful ways each day. Through learning about music, while simultaneously being exposed to concepts in math, language, and character development, your child will grow as a musician, a student, and a person.
Primrose School will be closed Monday, July 4th, 2022
Each Primrose school is held to high standards of safety and cleanliness while maintaining a caring and nurturing environment where children can thrive.
There’s no question that parents want their preschoolers to grasp the basics of colors, numbers and letters to foster a lifetime of learning.
It might seem odd to think about your preschooler exploring data analysis and algebra.
It's a fact: children learn better when they are engaged. That's why purposeful play and nurturing guidance from teachers are key components of Balanced Learning. See how this time-tested approach with a strong emphasis on life skills and character development can help your child develop and excel.
Congratulations to Primrose’s own Jada Johnson, Published Author and previous Primrose Explorer Student. Learn more about her book and how to get your copy.
