Ms. Powers has been promoted to Senior Director where she will be serving both Primrose School of Dunwoody and Primrose School of Roswell North. Ms. Powers earned a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Robert Morris University. As an educator, Ms. Powers has been in early childhood education for seven years and joined the Primrose team in November 2014. When asked why Ms. Powers chose education as her career, she stated, “I can’t think of a more rewarding career - I learn from children just as much as they learn from me and I admire their endless energy, creativity and honesty. “ Ms. Powers believes Primrose provides endless opportunities for children of all ages.
Ms. Jen joined the Primrose School of Dunwoody family in July of 2021.She has a Bachelor’s Degree from Furman University in Health and Exercise Sciences. She has worked with children in various fields for over 20 years. Ms. Jen has worked with infants through teenagers, but loves the little ones the best! She most recently worked as a teacher, site manager, and Director of Operations at multiple Gymboree Play & Music locations in Atlanta. She is excited to get to know the Primrose School of Dunwoody children, parents, and staff, and is excited to continue her career path in education management.
Ms. Ruchira joins the team as Assistant Director. Prior to joining the Primrose School of Dunwoody in August 2017, Mrs. Ruchira earned her degree in finance and worked in human resources as a corporate trainer. She is excited to be back at Primrose School of Dunwoody and is thrilled to know the children, parents, and staff. In her spare time, she likes to read and watch movies. When asked why she enjoys working with children, she said, “children are adorable, funny and smart and I just love playing with my kids”. When asked why she enjoys working at Primrose, she says “It is a great school and a great place to learn.”
Ms. Ariel Williams joined the Primrose Team in July 2020 as the Lead Kindergarten Teacher. She comes to us with three years of childcare experience. Of those years, she has worked with a Georgia Lottery Funded PreK and a Kindergarten class in Dekalb County. Ms. Williams attended Alabama State University where she graduated with her bachelors in Elementary Education. When asked what she is most excited about this school year, she said “I am most excited about the new teaching styles Primrose offers. I am also very excited to meet my new students and help them advance to their highest potential.” When asked why she enjoys working with children, she said “Children have great energy and you can feel that. I love to leave an impact on children so that they will remember me for years to come. It’s all about building relationships. Also, I love to introduce new and fun ways to learn in order to keep children engaged. Ms. Williams loves working for Primrose! She says, “Primrose is very hands-on with student and staff. They offer a lot of tools and resources to help you grow as an educator. I am very excited to start my journey with this company”
Ms. Wells has been in childcare for seven years and joined the Primrose team in April 2015. Not only has she had experience working with children of all ages in the classroom, but working with children on the volleyball court as well. Ms. Wells has completed her Early Childhood Education Certification. When asked why Ms. Wells chose to work with children, she stated, "I love teaching children and witnessing the excitement when they have learned new things." When asked what she is most excited about this school year, she said "I am most excited to get to know my students and their families." Since then, Ms. Hannah has been promoted to Curriculum Coordinator and is excited to grow in her new role.
We are excited to announce Mrs. Kelly Baldwin is joining our team! Mrs. Baldwin has been a Kindergarten teacher for the past three years at Oakley Elementary in Union City, GA, where she was the Department Chair for her grade level. After completing maternity leave this year, Ms. Baldwin was no longer comfortable with such a long commute, which led her to us! She has a master’s degree in Elementary Education from Georgia Southern University. Mrs. Baldwin is extremely thankful for this opportunity to continue doing what she loves best, but closer to home.
Ms. Arely Cardenas joined the Primrose Dunwoody team in March 2016 as a Student Teacher in our mentor program. She has since graduated from Georgia State University with a bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education. When asked why Ms. Arely enjoys working with children, she stated “Children are so funny and so energetic. It is fun to be around them.” Ms. Arely has enjoyed her time at Primrose so far and has said, “All the kids at Primrose are so sweet and the staff is so friendly. It is a very positive work environment.”
Ms. Brittaney joins us with three years of childcare experience working with children ages six weeks to eleven years. She has spent the past two years in Shanghai, China teaching children ages three to five at Tiny Tots International Preschool and Kindergarten. Ms. Brittaney obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Studies from the University of Central Arkansas. She is thrilled to be back in the U.S. and continue her journey as an educator; where she feels there is not a more rewarding career. Ms. Brittaney has also expressed her excitement in getting to know the children and continuing to foster a love for learning with our future leaders.
Ms. Daisha relocated to the Atlanta area from Columbus, Ohio in December 2020. She graduated from Marshall University with her undergrad in Early Childhood Education and masters in Mental Health Counseling. Ms. Daisha joins us with ten years of childcare experience working with infants through adolescents. Though new to PSD, Ms. Daisha is not new to the Primrose experience as she was previously employed for a Primrose School in Ohio. Ms. Daisha shares why she enjoys working with children, “Children pull out your creativity and fun side. I love that basic, yet critical concepts can be taught in such an exciting way. As much as children learn from us, we learn so much from them and about ourselves from our interactions. Children can be molded, guided, and led in the right direction. I enjoy being part of that influence!”
Mrs. Sheri joined the Primrose Team in August 2020 as the Lead Teacher in our Preschool II program. She comes to us with 16 years of childcare experience. Mrs. Sheri attended Bethany Bible College where she took courses in Early Childhood Education. She then got her CNA (Certified Nurse Aide) licenses and worked as a nursing aide at a senior care facility. When asked what she is most excited about this school year, she said “I am most excited about watching the children learn and have joy in the process. I love watching them grow both socially and academically.” When asked why she enjoys working with kids, she said “Children are joyful in the most innocent ways. Small things make their day- a funny song, being silly, noises. I enjoy their love of life that as adults we sometimes forget.”
Ms. Asia Jackson joined the Primrose Dunwoody team in March 2018 as a Venture Class Teacher in our Preschool – Sr Explorer Classes. Ms. Asia is currently a Georgia State University Student. When asked why she enjoys working with children, she said “Children always know how to make you feel better by just being themselves. They are funny and very honest.” When asked why she enjoys working at Primrose, she said “The atmosphere is friendly and the staff is very attentive.”
Ms. Powell has been in childcare for seven years and joined the Primrose team in 2009. She is currently enrolled at the Art Institute of Atlanta to pursue a degree in Liberal Arts.
When asked why Ms. Powell chose to work with children, she stated, “Children keep me smiling and bring joy into my life.” She believes the structured learning environment is beneficial for children of all ages.
Mrs. Lida Nikdel joined the Primrose team in March 2016 as a teacher in our Infant Classroom. Originally from Iran, Mrs. Lida relocated to the Atlanta area with her husband in 2016. Mrs. Lida has a Bachelor’s Degree in Management and a Master’s degree in Marketing. When asked why Mrs. Lida enjoys working with children, she stated, “I enjoy watching them grow and discover new things.” From her time so far at Primrose, she said “Primrose is a great place to work. The staff and owner Mrs. Lynn make it an enjoyable place to be. I look forward to teaching and every day at work.”
Ms. Alex holds a Child Development Associates and joins us with six years of Primrose experience. Two of those years were at our sister-school, Primrose School of Roswell North. Ms. Alex thoroughly enjoys implementing the Preschool Pathways curriculum to its highest fidelity. She is thrilled to join our Primrose School of Dunwoody family!
Ms. Chandrika Gurung joined the Primrose Team in August 2020 as a Teacher in our Infant Classrooms. She comes to us with two years of childcare experience. Ms. Chandrika has her Associates degree in Early Childhood Education from Georgia State University.When asked what she was most excited about this school year, she said “I am most excited about meeting all new faces and learning new things alongside the children.” When asked why she enjoys working with children, she said “I love how children are so innocent and lovable. I love to play with them and watch them discover new things in the process.” Ms. Chandrika loves working for Primrose!She says, “I love the values and goals Primrose has set forth not only for the students but for the staff as well.”
Ms. Neveah joins us with six years of childcare experience. She has educated and cared for children of various ages in a whole group childcare environment, as well as provided nannying services. Ms. Neveah loves to be in the presence of children and is thrilled to join the Preschool Pathways Team. She states, “Children are so sweet! I look forward to watching them grow developmentally and physically.”
Mrs. Usha graduated from B.M.S College in Bangalore, India with a master’s in Business Management. She joins us with several years of childcare experience working with children of various ages as a volunteer at Vanderlyn Elementary. Mrs. Usha has been a phenomenal addition to the Preschool Pathways Team and has thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the children.
Ms. Boahene has worked in childcare for fifteen years and joined the Primrose team in June 2008. She earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Human Services from Shorter University. When asked why Mrs. Boahene enjoys working with young children, she stated, “Children make me laugh; they teach me patience and love. I get to relax, be myself, and act silly with them- that is an awesome feeling!” Ms. Boahene truly believes the Balanced Learning Curriculum provided will build active minds, healthy bodies and happy hearts for all children at our school.
Ms. Mugi has worked in childcare for six years and joined the Primrose team in September 2014. She has obtained her associates degree in Early Childhood Education as well as her CDA certification. When asked why Ms. Mugi chose education as her career, she stated, “I have always had a passion to educate and work with children. They bring such positive energy and are a joy to teach.” Ms. Mugi believes Primrose provides excellent training and multiple opportunities for all teachers to be successful.
Ms. Samantha relocated to the Atlanta area in 2018 from Bronx, New York. She graduated from Monroe College where she obtained an associate degree in Medical Assistance. She joins us with two years of childcare experience. Prior to relocating to Dunwoody, she was employed at a pediatric clinic where children receive speech and occupational therapy. Ms. Samantha adores children and is thrilled to continue her journey working with them at the Primrose School of Dunwoody. We are excited to have her join the phenomenal Early Preschool team!
Ms. Katherine Sidon joined the Primrose Dunwoody team in August 2017 as a Teacher in our Young Toddler Class. Ms. Katherine worked as an Assistant Teacher for Primrose Johns Creek and Marietta Hwy while in High School. After graduating high school, Ms. Katherine joined the Army and served our country for 7 years. Since then, Ms. Katherine earned an Associate’s Degree in Health Administration, is working toward a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, and has worked full-time as a Nanny while attending college. When asked what she is most excited about this year, she stated “I look forward to learning more about the music activities.” When asked why she enjoys working with children, she said “I have been around children all my life including growing up in the orphanage myself.”
Ms. Justice Petway joined the Primrose Team in June 2019 as a teacher in the Infant I Classroom. She has now accepted the Lead Teacher position in our Toddler I classroom. She joins us from our sister school, Primrose School of Roswell North. She is currently a student at Georgia State University where she is pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education. Ms. Justice is also working on her CDA certification. When asked what she is most excited about this school year, she said “I’m excited about getting to know the kids and creating a great bond with the parents. Also, I’m excited to create great relationships with my coworkers.” When asked why she enjoys working at Primrose, she said “Primrose makes me feel like I’m at home. The parents, teachers and staff are so friendly and always happy to be here.”
Ms. Kematha joined the Primrose Dunwoody team in March 2017 as a Teacher in the Infant Classroom. Ms. Kematha previously worked at Primrose of Sugarloaf Parkway as a Preschool and After School Teacher. She joins us with over six years of teaching experience. Ms. Kematha has a wonderful positive and outgoing personality! She brings great energy into the classroom and she often has our teachers and babies laughing.
Outside of Primrose, Ms. Kematha is a mother to her two daughters, Shana and Angelique. She explains, “I come from a large family where we all look after each other. Strong family values are very high on my list.” Some of her favorite hobbies include reading, watching classic movies and listening to poetry readings.
Ms. Kematha shares her Primrose experience by saying, “Since coming to Primrose I have found the staff to be awesome, understanding and supportive. The administration and the owners are the best. To me it is like we are a family. Truly one of the best jobs I have ever had.”
Ms. Daniela (“Ms. P”) originally joined Primrose Dunwoody in April 2015 as an Explorer Teacher and has worked part-time in many of our classrooms over the years. She has obtained her associates degree in Early Childhood Education from the Georgia State University. We are thrilled to have her back. When asked why she enjoys working with children, Ms. P states, “Every day I learn new things about the children. They always come up with something exciting. No single day with them is the same. Children motivate me to be a better person. Helping children and their families is the most rewarding job.”
Ms. Janet joins us with two years of childcare experience working with Infants and Toddlers. When asked what she enjoys most about working with children she states, “It is a pure joy being with children! I am a firm believer that children can turn any frown upside down and they bring such positive energy to this world.” Ms. Janet looks forward to getting to know the children and interacting with them on a daily basis.
Ms. Neika joined the Primrose Dunwoody team in February 2020. She was previously at our sister school, Primrose of Roswell North for 2 years. She has worked with children for more than three years, including working at a Federal Law training base in Brunswick, GA, at their Little Rookies Daycare. She also worked in customer service for ten years. Working with children is something that she has always enjoyed doing. She is so excited to meet new kids and watch them grow. Her mom, Ms. Michelle, is also part of the Primrose team. She is so glad to be a part of Primrose!
Ms. Lesly Delgado joined the Primrose Dunwoody Team in December 2019 as a teacher in our Wonder Program. She has now been promoted to Co-Lead in our Infant II Classroom. Ms. Lesly's sister also works here at Primrose Dunwoody. We are so excited to have them both here with us! When asked why she enjoys working with children, she said " I love watching them grow and seeing how much they care for one another. It is such a beautiful experience getting the opportunity to see their first steps and hear their first words." When asked what she is most excited for this school year, she said " I am most excited to get to know the children and the staff here at Primrose Dunwoody." Ms. Lesly loves working at Primrose. She says, "Primrose has such a good environment where everyone cares about one another."
Ms. Nalayah currently attends Georgia Southern University to pursue a degree in Early Childhood Education. She joins us with one year of childcare experience. Ms. Nalayah has always had a passion for working with children and is thrilled to continue her journey at the Primrose School of Dunwoody. When asked what she is most excited about this school year, she says " I am most excited about getting to know everyone and watching our friends grow throughout the year".
Ms. Michelle joins us from our sister-school, Primrose School of Roswell North; where she has worked for two years as an Infant Teacher. We are thrilled to have promoted Ms. Michelle to this lead role. Prior to working at Primrose, Ms. Michelle worked as an Infant Teacher at the Federal Law Training Base in Brunswick at their Little Rookies Daycare. Ms. Michelle is excited to join our school and looks forward to meeting the children and their families. When asked what she is most excited about this school year, she says " I am excited to see my new students grow and develop into their own little personalities."
Ms. Gyuzal Abdusamatova joined the Primrose Dunwoody team in April 2016 as a teacher in our Toddler Classroom. Ms. Gyuzal previously lived and worked in Uzbekistan as a teacher of the Russian language. Her childcare experience includes teaching children ages 2-4 years old for a total of four years. When asked what she is most excited about this year, she stated “I am excited to work in a new place where I can be helpful and happy.” Ms. Gyuzal has enjoyed her experience so far at Primrose from working with a group of nice group of coworkers, families and children.
Ms. April has joined us with twenty years of childcare experience, thirteen of those years teaching at the Primrose School of Meadowbrook in Alabama. When asked what she is most excited about this school year, she stated “Working with children is the most rewarding job I can think of. Knowing that my job is to help children reach their full potential brings a huge smile to my face. My passion is teaching children. I strive to be the teacher that my students remember long after they have left my classroom.” When asked why she enjoys working at Primrose, she stated “I worked at Primrose school of Meadowbrook in Alabama for almost 13 years. Working at Primrose makes you feel like you are a part of a team, really part of a family. I also love how Primrose includes the staff, children, parents, and the community in different activities throughout the year.”
Ms. Mayira joins us with seven years of childcare experience working with children of various ages at the Atlanta International School. She was also employed at Divino Salvador Health Center for Children. Ms. Mayira graduated from Universidad del Valle, Cali Colombia with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She is thrilled to join the Infant Team and looks forward to the many positive interactions she will have with the children and families daily.
Ms. Carolyn Jackson-Edeh joined the Primrose Dunwoody team in March 2018 as a Teacher in our Preschool Classrooms. Prior to joining Primrose, Ms. Carolyn was a substitute teacher and a Chaplain. She earned an Associate’s Degree in Psychology, a Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Studies and a Master of Divinity in Theology. When asked why she enjoys working with children, she said “I love the excitement and energy they express in their daily encounters. Children are forgiving, loving and adventurous.” When asked what she is most excited about this school year, she says "I am most excited about engaging with the children and sharing in their creative thoughts and activities."
Ms. Macee recently relocated from the Washington D.C. area and is thrilled to be back in Atlanta where she calls home. She obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Management from Howard University. Ms. Macee joins us with four years of childcare experience working with underprivileged children and children with special needs. She looks forward to sharing her love of learning and is hopeful to continue making a difference in the lives of children.
Mrs. Maryam possesses more than ten years of childcare experience working with toddlers through school age children. Although fluent in written English, Mrs. Maryam is working diligently to increase her English verbal communication skills, to include taking weekend ESOL classes. This is a unique opportunity for Primrose and Mrs. Maryam and, as such, we have created a Volunteer Support Teacher position for her as she increases her verbal communication skills. In this role, Mrs. Maryam will be an additional Volunteer Support Teacher (in addition to Primrose teacher to student ratio). Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Maryam to our Primrose family!
Mrs. Mayura has been in the childcare sector for two years where she has worked with preschool through fourth grade. Prior to relocating to the U.S., Mrs. Mayura attended Gulabrao Medical School in Miraj, India. Though she was heavily involved in healthcare, her passion remains with children. She is ecstatic to continue working in the early childhood field and looks forward to meeting all the children and families.
