Meet the Flores Family..... Hi, we are the Flores family and we’re excited to share a little about ourselves! Our three-year-old son, Alex, has been going to Primrose for about a year and our four-month-old son, Austin, just started this January. We also have a kindergartener at Winkley Elementary where I, Sarah, teach 1st grade. We moved to The Highlands from California September 2013 and have loved it ever since. We are so fortunate to live in this community and have Primrose & Winkley here. My husband, JC, is originally from Arizona and my roots are in Iowa. We met in Hawaii in 2007 where I had moved after graduating college in Iowa and he was stationed as a Marine. Having a BA in Accounting, I worked as an accountant there and pursued my Masters in Education so I could become a teacher. Married in 2011, the Marine Corps then took us to Camp Pendleton in California. We loved our time in Hawaii and California. Our story is unique in that we’ve never used full-time daycare for any of our babies till our last one that was born this past September. Upon getting out of the Marine Corps after 8 years and then doing government contracting for two years, my husband went back to finish his degree and was the one that stayed home with our kids. During that time, we used mother’s day out programs so he could have some time to study, but the majority of the time they were with him and it’s a time he looks back on fondly. Those years go so fast and are some to cherish! Upon graduating last December, he took a job in construction management with a civil construction company, Phillips & Jordan. With a 5, 3, and 4 month old, we enjoy getting out as a family to places they can enjoy also like parks, bowling, short hikes, and restaurants with play areas! We know these days won’t last forever and we try to enjoy all of the little moments! We love Primrose and couldn’t be happier with our experience there!

We’ve all been there: Cue the tears, the stomping feet and the oh-so-mournful cry: “It’s not fair!”
