Information Caring and Giving: More Than 1,300 Pounds of Food Donated to Families in Need

Our school is making a difference in the community through our Caring and Giving Food Drive! 1,374 pounds of food to donate to the Brazos Valley Food Bank BackPack Program! This organization provides children with backpacks full of food every Friday so they won’t go hungry over the weekend.

Caring and Giving Food Drive provides an opportunity for children to learn the joy of giving without expecting firsthand. During the month of November, students practice responsibility by earning money for the food items through age-appropriate chores at home. The children then use math, nutrition and planning skills in a hands-on way – they combine their money and count it, learn how to plan healthy meals and create shopping lists.

At Primrose, we believe who children become is as important as what they know. The Caring and Giving Food Drive is just one example of how we nurture important character traits and help instill compassion and a desire to give back in children.
