"I love partnering with families and our staff to develop the future change-makers of the world. There is nothing more rewarding to me than the smile on a child's face when they have discovered something new or accomplished a developmental milestone. It is an honor to guide children during these early years so they become engaged learners and compassionate citizens.”
Ms. Wiersma has worked with children for 10+ years, serving in a Leadership capacity at Primrose School at Briar Chapel since 2017. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Visual Arts from Ramapo College and has achieved a Level 3 Director certification in North Carolina. “It is very important to me to build positive and meaningful relationships with children, families, and staff. I believe that children learn best with nurturing guidance and curiosity-driven exploration during the first 5 years. Through teaching, we can enable many rewarding experiences which will lead young learners to a bright future. As a mom of two young children who attend our school, it is easy for me to share the positive benefits of Primrose with prospective families. My children love it here!”
As Curriculum Coordinator, Ms. Greiner leads the implementation of Balanced Learning curriculum. During her 30+ years in the education field, Ms. Greiner has held both teacher and administrator roles. She has worked in Primrose Schools for 10+ years, first as a Pre-Kindergarten teacher and now as Curriculum Coordinator at our school since 2019. Ms. Greiner holds an Associates degree in Early Childhood Education from Dutchess County College in Poughkeepsie, NY.
"I am enthusiastic about supporting our teachers to provide the best learning experience for our students. Our school is a place for children to learn and grow through purposeful play, with positive guidance in a nurturing environment. The character development program is my favorite piece of our curriculum because it teaches students to become good citizens of the world. I truly believe who children become is more important than what they know and I'm proud that our curriculum emphasizes good character."
Meet Brian and Melissa Mart, proud Franchise Owners of Primrose School of Chapel Hill at Briar Chapel. Longtime residents of the Triangle area, the Marts opened their Primrose school in 2016 and are proud to bring the Primrose Experience to children and families in Briar Chapel and Chapel Hill.
The Marts were first introduced to Primrose Schools when they were searching for an early education and care provider for their daughter. After enrolling her at a local Primrose school in the Triangle area when she was just three months old, they were impressed by the growth and skills she quickly developed thanks to the Primrose Balanced Learning ® curriculum.
After 20 years in corporate America, the Marts were ready to begin their entrepreneurial journey in a field that allowed them to spend more time with their daughter and give back to the community. After years of seeing the passion, joy and community impact the Franchise Owners at their daughter’s Primrose school had, they realized opening a Primrose school would be the business venture they had always desired to pursue.
"Starting a Primrose school in our community has been a wonderful opportunity to do something we are passionate about, while providing premier early education and care for local families. Our goal is to offer parents an atmosphere where they can have peace of mind that their children are safe and happy while receiving a quality education. This is more than just a business to us, it is a family of staff, students and parents all working together to forge a better future for all children."
