When life gives you lemons, make lemonade to help those in need! To support the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, which funds childhood cancer research, students at our school perfected their juicing skills and hosted a lemonade stand fundraiser every Friday in July.
Older students hand-squeezed juice, poured cold lemonade for customers and collected donations during pick-up hours. Collectively, they raised more than $600 for the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation! They also created handmade cards to send to patients at Dayton Children’s Hospital. Our giving event even attracted attention on WDTN 2 News!
By organizing and marketing their lemonade stand, students practiced responsibility, kindness and giving without expecting — key character traits we nurture as part of our Balanced Learning® approach.
