Mona and Travis Harris, along with their daughter, Olivia Grace, are our October Family of the Month. Mona writes, “In July of 2018, I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Olivia Grace. I was a first-time mom which comes with a great deal of responsibility and some anxiety. My husband and I both work full-time, so we knew eventually we would have to rely on someone other than ourselves to care for our daughter while we worked. Of course, I was filled with questions and did a lot of research online about potential caregivers. Would I choose a family member, a nanny, individual care, or daycare? We ultimately decided that daycare was the right solution for us. With the help of some very good parenting websites, I drafted my list of questions for the potential caregivers.
I googled and searched for many hours to locate suitable daycares in the Cypress area. One day while searching, the Primrose Bridgeland website appeared. I was not yet familiar with Primrose and prior to that, I wasn’t getting any hits for them. I went to their website which was so warm and inviting, I thought this place has a lot of potential. I submitted an inquiry and Karen immediately called me to discuss my needs. She explained that the Bridgeland location was still under construction, but there was one space for a baby at their Barker Cypress location and that we would need to act quickly. My husband, Olivia and I headed to the location for a tour. We were greeted with warm smiles and this set the tone for the remainder of our visit. As we visited the baby room, I saw the little ones being rocked, cuddled, and loved on by the teachers and this made my heart smile. I knew when we were done that this was the place for our baby girl. We still did our due diligence and visited a few other daycares in the area, but none compared to what we experienced during our Primrose tour, so we signed up the next day and we haven’t looked back. Also, I reviewed the State’s website for complaints and while there were some minor things, nothing major that gave me any concern which further underscored Primrose was the BEST choice for us.
Olivia loves going to school. I love it that every morning and afternoon, she is greeted by name by all the staff and teachers at Primrose. The growth and development that I have seen in my daughter these past almost three years is amazing. She is very advanced academically and I attribute that to the curriculum and structure provided by Primrose. With Primrose, I feel as though it’s a partnership with the parents. I have numerous examples of how they have helped us accomplish various milestones, but I’m especially thankful for them partnering with us on her potty training. Once we started, it took less than a week for her to master it. The teachers have a way of making each parent and child feel special. Also, they are so reassuring and non-judgmental during times where we may feel like we have fallen short as parents. I appreciate the detail and thought that goes into caring for my child even for small things like transitioning students together to the next class to make it easier on them. The teachers are extremely patient, and I always get the sense that they enjoy what they do and that permeates throughout the classroom. I know that Olivia has met some lifelong friends and we are thrilled to be a part of the Primrose family.
We want to thank Georgia and her amazing staff for loving, caring for and investing in our daughter. Her life will forever be impacted by her Primrose experience!”
