Shannon and Stephen Horton, along with their children, Aiden and Tinley, are our July Family of the Month. Shannon writes, “I remember vividly the first day I walked into Primrose to drop Aiden off. It was 2006. I was thinking, “How could I leave my sweet, helpless baby to strangers?” I cried every day for at least a week.
Looking back over the past 10 years that we have been walking your halls, we have come to realize that Primrose has become an extension of our family. You all have been such an important part of molding Aiden and Tinley into the wonderful kids they are.
This list could go on and on, but I wanted to highlight just some of the amazing staff you have: Ms. Kaye and the way she cared for the infants so patiently and lovingly, Mrs. Walker and the way she was able to get a room full of toddlers to actually sit on the ABC carpet quietly with their hands on their laps, Mrs. Westcott who helped Aiden develop a love of reading and learning that has continued to this day, Mrs. Alicia and the way she made Tinley feel so loved and special, Ms. Provost who adored Tinley and created such a bond that we have to visit her classroom daily for a quick hug even a year after she left her class, and Ms. Engle who has given Tinley a love of learning and the confidence to tackle 1st grade head on.
Stephen and I feel so fortunate that our kids had such an amazing experience with the Primrose family. While we are so excited to continue to watch Aiden and Tinley grow and experience new things, it is bittersweet that this chapter in our lives is over. Primrose took amazing care of our children, and we will be forever grateful. The foundation that you helped to provide Aiden and Tinley will be highlighted over and over in their lifetime.
And just as I cried the first time I walked your halls, I will be crying as I walk them one last time a decade later.”
