Elizabeth and Zane Kennedy, along with their daughters, Zoie and Zadie, are our Family of the Month for January. Elizabeth writes, “We came to Primrose when our now 5 ½ year old daughter was about 18 months old. We had heard great things about Primrose from other parents. I will never forget the day we took our tour and how sweet Ms. Barbara and the rest of the staff were. We immediately felt at home. We started 2 weeks later and instantly saw a change in our daughter. She was happy and was starting to blossom. She has learned so much in her time at Primrose. I still remember the day Ms. Walker said that it was time that Zoie was potty trained. I did not believe her but followed her lead, and she was right! We never looked back, and that was all because of the Primrose staff. I will also never forget the day Zoie got sick in the car in the parking lot. I needed help, so I called the office. Ms. Elizabeth answered the phone, went and got Zoie clean clothes from her room, and then stood in the rain helping me change her and get her back in the car.
Over the next few years, Primrose became home to all of us as we enjoyed the celebrations (Halloween, Christmas, Easter, Spring Fling, where all the teachers knew all the students) and made parent friends of our own. We now enjoy time with Primrose families outside of Primrose.
Zoie’s teachers have not only supported her and the other students while in school, but outside of school, as well. They have attended birthday parties, and Ms. Valladares and Ms. Samantha also joined us for a 5K to support Juvenile Arthritis, which one of Zoie’s classmates has.
In 2016, we found out we would be welcoming Baby #2. Primrose knew before some of my family did because I wanted to secure a spot for the baby once she arrived. Ms. Nancy got Baby Zadie her first “little sister” outfit before she was even born. As our Zoie started Kindergarten this year, our Zadie started Primrose full time. It is a true blessing to have both our girls at this school because it more than a school—it is a family.”
