    School Director

    I’m Erin Hylton, the School Director at the Primrose School of Arlington. A native from Monmouth County, New Jersey, I’ve lived in the Northern Virginia area for the last eight years. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Westminster Choir College, NJ and a Master’s Degree in School Counseling from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. The last eight years I have been teaching General Music and Chorus to students Pre-K through 6th Grade in Fairfax County Public Schools. I've been at the Primrose School of Arlington since February 2021, and love the brand, mission, and all that it stands for. In my spare time I love reading, hiking, crossword puzzles and watching baseball (go Yanks!) Our school promotes curiosity, confidence, creativity and compassion; traits that I think are key to academic, social and emotional success. I very much value character education and I believe in helping to develop little humans that don’t just have strong minds, but strong hearts and souls as well.

    My name is Teon Jakley, and I am the Assistant Director at the Primrose of Arlington. I am originally from New York City and moved to the Northern Virginia area a few years ago. I have my CDA and currently pursuing my undergraduate and post graduate degree in Education and Educational leadership. I have worked in the early childcare industry in various capacities for over fifteen years. I am excited to be a part of the Primrose family and I strongly believe that early childhood education lays the groundwork for children’s lifelong learning. Primrose mission: To forge a path that leads to a brighter future for all children, is a mission I strongly agree with. I have a firm belief that every child should have the opportunity to receive quality education. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, playing my guitar and spending time with my family.

    My name is Ameera McLendon, and I am the Educational Coach at the Primrose of Arlington. I was born in Washington DC but raised and lived in Maryland for most of my life. I moved to Northern Virginia a year ago with my husband and new puppy. I have my Bachelors in English and my Masters degree in Education. I’ve worked with children for about 11 years. I have experience in teaching, leadership and mentorship. I worked in public, private, childcare, and charter schools. I am thrilled to be a part of the Primrose family and I believe that early childhood education sets the foundation of children's educational success. I strongly believe in social emotional learning and meeting children where they are. My goal is to help educators meet students' social-emotional needs, academic needs with high quality mentoring and support. In my down time, I enjoy writing, video gaming, drawing, and cooking.

    My name is Reagan Carey and I’m excited to join the leadership team at the Primrose School of Arlington in the role as Marketing & Office Support. I have a degree in Communications from Indiana University but am local to Virginia! I have a passion for children and enjoy being part of their learning journey. My professional experience has been with event planning, media marketing, and marketing strategies. I can’t wait to bring creative programing to life for the students of our school!

    Ms. Belmessikh has been working with children for about 15 years. Her favorite pastime is traveling, all things Disney, movies, museums and spending time with her family. She enjoys collecting Disney collectables and enjoys teaching children and watching them blossom.

    Pre-K Teacher

    Mr. Green has worked in the childcare industry for over 10 years. He finds that it is an opportunity to watch children grow and develop into confident, self-sufficient learners. His favorite part is getting to seem them accomplish something new. In his free time, Mr. Green enjoys volunteering activities, especially teaching underprivileged kids. As well as, watching Netflix, hiking or reading.

    Ms. Mitchell has been working with children since she was sixteen. Most recently she was working with 2-3 year olds in North Carolina. We are happy to have her join our Infant team here at Primrose. With her many years of teaching experience, she enjoys the laughter and joy she can bring to a young child as they grow and develop into enriched students.
