Kerry Stockman

Meet Kerry Stockman -proud Franchise Owner of Primrose School of Apex. As a longtime resident of the Triangle, Kerry began her entrepreneurial journey in 2011. She is thrilled to bring the Primrose experience offering premier early education and care to families in the Apex community.

Kerry has 2 children, Anya, her 21 year old daughter and Cooper, her 11 year old son. When looking for opportunities to invest in something that would positively impact the community Kerry made the decision to open her own Primrose school. With her extensive background working with children, she knew it was the right fit for their family.

Kerry, originally from Massachusetts, relocated to North Carolina to be closer to family. She attended Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She also attended Northeastern University in Massachusetts and earned a Master of Science in Counseling. Kerry worked in the mental health and foster cares field for 15 years, always knowing she wanted to work with students very early on to have the biggest impact on development and education.

Kerry’s goal is to offer an atmosphere where children can grow their Active Minds, Healthy Bodies and Happy Hearts and provide parents with peace of mind knowing their children are well cared for and receiving a premier education.

Primrose School of Apex features the exclusive Balanced Learning curriculum for children ages 6 weeks to 6-years-old. Developed by, and taught exclusively at Primrose Schools, the research-informed curriculum blends teacher-guided and child-initiated activities. Primrose School of Apex is located at 614 Old Mill Village Drive.

Preschool Project Time

During Preschool Project Time, our students created beautiful abstract sun catchers. They learned that abstract art focuses on using lines, shapes, and colors to express creativity in unique ways. Through this project, the children explored different designs and discovered how simple shapes and patterns can come together to create meaningful works of art.

Preschool Small Group Literacy Time

During Preschool Small Group Literacy, our students reviewed both uppercase and lowercase letter I. They practiced correctly forming and writing the letters while also building phonological awareness by counting the syllables in words that begin with the letter I. Through these activities, the children strengthened their letter recognition, handwriting, and early literacy skills.

Preschool Small Group Math Time

During Preschool Small Group Math, our students learned about patterns and explored the difference between growing patterns and repeating patterns. Using math cubes, they practiced creating and extending their own patterns while strengthening their counting and problem- solving skills. The students then recorded their patterns in their math journals and counted each set, helping them connect hands-on learning with early math concepts.

Pre-K Small Group Literacy Time

During Pre-K Small Group Literacy, our students created leaves to represent the letter L while exploring the sound the letter makes. They practiced identifying and viewing words that begin with the /L/ sound, helping to strengthen their letter recognition, phonemic awareness, and early reading skills through a fun, hands-on activity.

Pre-K Small Group Math Time

During Pre-K Small Group Math, our students strengthened and mastered the skill of sorting and categorizing. Using a variety of manipulatives, they sorted, counted, and organized objects while exploring similarities and differences. These hands-on activities helped build critical thinking, observation, and early math skills as students learned to compare attributes and classify items into groups.

Pre-K Project Time

During our Pre-K Project Time, students created beautiful flower sculptures using a variety of recycled materials. As they designed and built their creations, they explored creativity, problem-solving, and fine motor skills while learning how everyday materials can be transformed into works of art. This hands-on project encouraged imagination, environmental awareness, and artistic expression.

Yes. Every Primrose staff member undergoes a thorough background check before joining our school. All staff are also CPR and first–aid certified, so you can feel confident your child is in safe, prepared hands every day.
