Schedule A TourMrs. Benkert is excited to continue her early childhood education career here at Primrose. Mrs. Benkert has a bachelor’s degree in Human Services with a Child Development focus. She has previously worked in early childhood education as a lead infant teacher, an education coordinator, and as an assistant director at Bright Horizons. Mrs. Benkert loves watching children discover new ways of learning and being a role model for the children in her care.
Mrs. Benkert and her husband are both born and raised in Michigan and moved to Minnesota in 2014 to finish their degrees. They recently moved to Iowa and are excited to establish their lives here in the Hawkeye state. In her spare time, she loves to go to the movies, hang out with her cat, and visit her family.
Hi, my name is Mrs. Sifert and I am the Assistant Director. I’m ecstatic about stepping into this role at the first-ever Primrose school in Iowa. My goal is to support implementation of Primrose’s exclusive research-based Balanced Approach Curriculum and also support teachers so they may enhance your child’s daily experience.
I earned my degree in Psychology from Iowa State University and have over 13 years of experience working in quality childcare programs. At home, I enjoy spending time with my husband, two kids, dog, and two cats. I also love to read, bake, and play board games. I look forward to seeing you at Primrose!
My name is Mrs. Langner (Kara) and I am the Director of Education. I’m beyond delighted to be a part of such a fabulous organization. As the Director of Education, it is my goal to ensure the implementation of the Primrose exclusive research-based Balanced Learning Approach with curriculum being utilized to its full potential in the classrooms. I will also be a means of support for teachers and parents with all the things involving education.
I have a double major bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership and Human Services from Buena Vista University. I was a Center Director at another center for five years before joining the primrose family in May. I have over 30 years of childcare experience including owning and operating an in-home childcare for 14 years.
In my spare time, I like to spend it with my family, two cats, and two dogs. I enjoy crafting, decorating, shopping, watching movies, listening to music, and taking long weekend trips with my mother.
I look forward to seeing, meeting, and getting to know each child and family!

We are the proud owners, Lyndi and Sean McVey. As Midwesterners who met at Drake University, we have always valued education. With two children of our own, Shannon and Connor, early childhood education is of the utmost importance to us as a family and we are so excited to bring the first Primrose school to Iowa!
We first discovered the Primrose difference while living in Orlando, Florida where our daughter was born. Primrose’s commitment to a balance of purposeful play with nurturing guidance from teachers, coupled with a solid foundation of health and safety, led our daughter to thriving in her early years in Orlando, while giving us, as busy working parents, priceless peace of mind.
We jumped at the opportunity to move back to the Midwest to be closer to family in 2016 and found ourselves living in Prairie Trail. While we love our neighborhood, we have missed having a local Primrose school. We are incredibly excited to offer this for our own children, our neighborhood, and the surrounding communities!
Being Prairie Trail residents, we know that Primrose will be a perfect addition to the community. We can’t wait to see how everyone comes to love Primrose as much as we did in Florida. We understand that the choice of where to send children for their early childhood education is a large decision, and not one to be taken lightly. Lyndi will be active in the school and looks forward to the chance to meet you, show you the Primrose difference, and build a trusted relationship.
For some additional background about us: Sean graduated from Drake with his BS in Computer Science and earned his MS from University of Central Florida. Lyndi graduated from Drake with her doctorate in pharmacy (PharmD) followed by residency training and board certification in Florida with Sean. When not working, you can find us enjoying time with Shannon and Connor at the aquatic centers, camping, playing in the yard, or walking our dog.
