  • Ms. Valerie Santana, Executive Director

    Executive Director

    Mrs. Santana is such a positive addition to our staff. Her bubbly personality always leaves a smile on everyone's face. Mrs. Santana came to us from Chicago with her one year old daughter, Scarlett, in 2013. She started as an Assistant Teacher in our Infant room and has since served our school in many capacities. She was our Administrative Assistant, Assistant Director and was promoted to Director in 2016. Mrs. Santana is very family oriented and in her spare time tries to spend as much time with her husband and daughter as possible. They love going to the movies and taking family trips together. They especially love to go on cruises!

    Mrs. Santana absolutely loves our school and is completely committed to helping it be a fun, friendly and welcoming atmosphere where children can learn and grow in a safe and caring environment! Watching the children in the school grow and develop gives her such wonderful feeling of pride and accomplishment. She takes so much joy watching them meet their milestones and witnessing their academic achievements.

    We are so lucky to have Mrs. Santana and her family here at Primrose School at Bentwater! Mrs. Santana has certifications in CPR/First Aid and Fire Safety and has obtained her Child Development Associate.

    My name is Tonya Ledbetter and I am excited to be on the Primrose School of Acworth at Bentwater Team. I am originally from Joliet, Illinois. I have lived in Georgia for 13 years with my family and we have really enjoyed calling Georgia our home. I began my Primrose journey as a teacher at the Primrose Kennesaw North with a tenure of 10 years. Children are my passion and I bring 24 years of early childhood education experience with me to Primrose School of Acworth at Bentwater. Children are the future and I am proud to be able to say that I have had an opportunity to be a blessing to so many young minds and their families. As the Educational Coach, I hope to bring my love for children and my many years of experience to help guide more teachers to be the best teachers they can be. I am over joyed and enthusiastic about working with the team and families here at Primrose School of Acworth at Bentwater!

    Hello, my name is Caleb, but everyone calls me McKinney. Though I call Texas home, Primrose Schools has become a home away from home. You’ll always find me tinkering on a computer due to my interest in the Information Technology field. Yet I have a new passion, which has led me to be an Early Years Educator for 10 years now. As a Professional School Age Associate, I strive to find new teaching strategies that can be fun and new within the classroom. In every center I have worked in, the children will come to know my favorite word… Respect. It’s an honor to be a part of this community and work with such wonderful families here at Bentwater.

    Ms. Sky has been with us for five years and brings laughter and joy to our school. Ms. Sky started here at Primrose as an assistant in Preschool and soon after moved into a Leadership position as the School and Marketing Coordinator. In her spare time, she loves crafting, traveling and spending time with family.

    Cheryl Cranmer, better known as "Ms. C" is a great asset to the Primrose Bentwater family. She has earned her CDA and has more than 20 years of experience in child care. She strives to make each parent at the Primrose School at Bentwater to feel completely at ease, with the comfort of knowing their baby is loved, safe, and is being cared for by the next best thing to Mom and Dad. She is originally from Macon, Georgia, but has lived in seven states, although she considers Georgia her home. Mrs. C. has been with our school since 2005, she has certifications in CPR/First Aid and Fire Safety.

    Hello, my name is Kelly Raczkowski! I was born and raised in Kennesaw, Georgia. After I graduated from North Cobb High School, I spent two years at Ogeechee Technical College in Statesboro, Georgia. I came back to Atlanta in 2010 and started my career in child care.

    I enjoy watching college football and professional hockey on the weekends. I have two spoiled dogs. Lilly, who is a mutt and is 12 years old, and Jaxon who is a 9 year old American Bulldog. I love taking them for walks in the park.

    In my spare time, I help my mother fix up her home and I also love to bake desserts!

    Hello! My name is Caitlin, and I am 20 years old. I currently attend Georgia Highlands for Early Childhood Education. I have 2 dogs Vito and Daisy. I love working with children and providing a safe and fun environment for them. I am so excited to be working at the Primrose School of Acworth at Bentwater!

    Hi, my name is Carlissa! I have been with Primrose Bentwater for over 2 years. I absolutely love working with children! I especially love children telling me about anything because it shows me how they view the world in their eyes. I have earned my Child Development Associate. 

    I have twin sisters and two brothers. We have a new addition to the Mota clan! His name is Manuel, but I lovingly call him Chicken Nugget. He made me become a very proud Primrose mommy. I am currently in school studying Business Technology. I am so excited to teach your children and be part of the Older Toddler classroom team!

    My name is Katelyn and I am 21 years old. I was born in Macon, Georgia and I have lived in Americus, Georgia all my life. I moved to Cartersville, Ga about 6 months ago to be closer to my family. I have worked in childcare for 5 years and I have loved every minute of that adventure. I enjoy baking and shopping at Target. In my free time, I like to hang with my friends and watch movies. I have a husband and we have been married for almost 8 months. We have 2 dogs and 2 cats. I am so excited to join the Primrose family and cannot wait to watch these sweet children grow and learn!

    Hi! My name is Kathy, and I am from Taylorsville, Georgia but my heart is in my hometown of Adairsville. I am a mother of two daughters and 3 fur babies. I love the outdoors and to get out and get active! I am very excited to be here on the Primrose team as I love to watch children learn and grow! I have been a part of childhood education for 5 years now and my goal is to provide children in my class with education, wonder, and smiles in a safe and loving environment.

    Greetings Family and Friends, I am Jennifer Smoot and it is a privilege to be a new member of the Primrose Team! I am from Kennesaw, Georgia and the oldest of two brothers. I grew up a “Mom Helper” and soon acquired my first job as a nanny for the neighborhood surrounding families. During High School, I worked for a Chick-fil-A and I went to college soon after with a D1 Basketball Scholarship at Mercer University. I picked back up childcare again for the love of the development in each child individually. It is a fulfilled take away for me! I take pride in my role as a teacher, but the values comes from the accomplished results mastered by the students! Thank you for letting me be a part of this journey with you!     Hello, my name is Tammy Markert. I have been a Primrose teacher for 14 years here at Bentwater. I grew up in Manitowoc, Wisconsin and attended Christ for the Nations Institute, where I earned an Associate’s Degree in Biblical Theology. I have been married over 30 years to my husband Larry. We have two adult children, Jason and Rochelle who are the light of my life. I have lived in Buffalo, NY, Pittsburgh, PA, Long Island, NY, and for the past 20 years in Kennesaw, GA. I have my CDA and have worked in all areas of the child care industry. I also hold certifications in CPR/First Aid and Fire Safety. The three year olds are my absolute favorite age! The children never cease to amaze me on a daily basis. I always learn something new!

    Mrs. Antoine, also better known as "Mrs. Wes" by her co-workers, students and parents, has a quiet confidence. She loves her job and most importantly, she loves each one of her students. She takes care and pride in working with each of them on an individual basis. Mrs. Wes has an uncanny ability to make each student feel that they are the most important; identifying specific individual needs and celebrating even the smallest accomplishments. Holding a Bachelors degree in Social work, and graduating at the top of her class, she has completed courses in graduate studies as well. Parents appreciate Mrs. Wes' command of her classroom, but they also love the gentle way she connects with their children. After moving to GA, from New York in 2004, she extended her family and had a daughter who is the absolute light of her life. In her spare time, and when not spending time with her family, she actually likes to clean her house! Mrs. Wes also enjoys reading, and truly loves circle-time and spending time reading to her students. In her words, "I love the Primrose character "Og" because he is a reader like myself. We both believe reading builds character." Mrs. Antoine has certifications in CPR/First Aid and Fire Safety.

    My name is Keshia Greely. I was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana and moved to Georgia in 2005. I have worked for Primrose for 6 years! I also hold certification in First Aid, CPR, and Fire Safety. I enjoy spending time with my furry friend, Roxie and walking the mountains.

    Hello! My name is Amanda Melton and I was born and raised in Marietta, Ga. I have four children- two girls and two boys. Their names are Alyssa (8), Matthew (6), Luke (4), and Haley (2). I am married and have two bonus daughters Scarlett (15) and Dixie (14). Jessie and I have our half dozen and we love our tribe. I hold my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and am certified in grades PK-5th grade. I was inducted into the International Honor Society of Education back in 2010 and received the ETS Recognition of Excellence Award ranking in the top 15% of all test takers on the Praxis II exam. I completed my student teaching in second grade and taught 2nd, 4th, and Pre-k until I had my oldest daughter. I also coach cheerleading for North Paulding High School’s youth program and prior to that was the head cheerleading coach for an all-star gym coaching children from 3-18 years old. I have moved over the years from Louisiana, Virginia, DC, Savannah, Fort Benning, and now have settled back near my hometown. My favorite football team is the Georgia Bulldogs– GO DAWGS! And I am also a Braves fan. When I am not at cheerleading, football, or baseball, you will find me spending time with family and friends and embarking on adventures. I love the beach and the mountains, ball games, ziplining, white water rafting, dancing, crafting, baking, shopping, and all the holiday festivities. Teaching is not just a job for me, it’s a passion and I am grateful for the opportunity to teach your child this year.

    Meet Tommy and Amy Roper - dedicated and passionate parents and the proud Franchise Owners of Primrose School of Acworth at Bentwater. Understanding the value of quality early childhood education and character development, the Ropers are thrilled with the opportunity to join the Primrose family. Tommy and Amy are both natives of the greater Atlanta area. Tommy grew up in Grayson and attended South Gwinnett High School, while Amy grew up in Marietta and attended Pope High School. Tommy is a graduate of Columbus State University and Amy is a graduate of Georgia Southwestern State University. Tommy and Amy have been married since 2002 and have three terrific boys, Thomas, Aiden and Jackson. All three boys have had the privilege of attending Primrose School of Acworth at Bentwater.

    Tommy's professional experience over the past fifteen years has been in project, personnel and relationship management, as well as sales and marketing within both software development and the pharmaceutical industries. While Tommy has enjoyed success through his career, his true passion has been more expressed with the time he spends with his family and his involvement with his boys in the community. Amy, with her education and background in accounting, took a position in 2012 with Primrose School Franchising Company as a trainer for business operations. In this role, she found herself not only advising on the business side, but learning all about Primrose Schools from operations to curriculum.

    Open since 2004, Primrose School of Acworth at Bentwater has been an important asset to this area. "Along with delivering quality early education, we will continue to be an important partner and leader in this community", says Amy. "We are dedicated to giving children the best possible care, and we understand how important it is to provide a well-rounded learning experience in a safe and nurturing environment", adds Tommy.
