Every day in Primrose classrooms across the country, moments happen that make our students and their families say “wow.” Whether it’s teachers going above and beyond to bring classroom lessons to life, students and families demonstrating an exceptional heart for giving, or school leadership making every student feel like a shining star, these “Wow Moments” are at the heart of what makes Primrose so special.
To honor these exceptional moments that come from our schools, we launched an awards program to recognize some of the stories that stood out. Here are the winners of our inaugural Wow Moments Awards:
Grand-Prize Winner: Nashville-Area Schools (Primrose School of Brentwood, Primrose School of Hendersonville, Primrose School of Murfreesboro, Primrose School of Nashville Midtown, Primrose School of Spring Hill)
In June 2017, five Primrose schools from the Greater Nashville, Tenn., area came together for a Day of Giving. More than 150 students, staff and volunteers gathered at a local Head Start, where they painted murals, planted community gardens and donated supplies and books for the school’s library. This act of service is a wonderful example of some of the important character lessons nurtured at Primrose – teamwork, empathy and giving without expecting.

After the Atlanta Falcons suffered a heartbreaking loss in the Big Game last year, students from this Metro Atlanta school wrote encouraging letters to Falcons players expressing their support for the team. This was the perfect opportunity for students to learn about the value of good sportsmanship and to spread some cheer to their community. The school was even featured on the “The Today Show”!
Primrose School of NW Oklahoma City

Staff from this school came up with the idea to create their own “Get Well Soon” packages for sick students. The packages include fresh flowers, a Primrose Friend and a customized note. This simple gift goes a long way in lifting little spirits and reminding families that their school is dedicated to their children’s health and happiness.
Primrose School of Brassfield
Category: Healthy Habits
Students learned about healthy eating by growing fruits and vegetables in their school’s Primrose Patch garden. When the produce was ready to harvest, the school created a pop-up farmers’ market so the students could share it with their families! The students loved this hands-on approach to learning about science and nutrition.
Primrose School of Gambrills

Students from a Preschool classroom at the school used Valentine’s Day as an opportunity to say “thank you” to local heroes by creating a giant valentine for a nearby police station. This was a fun way for the preschoolers to celebrate the holiday while also spreading love to important community helpers.
