Around the holidays, I always look forward to making gifts for friends and family. Every year I pick out quick and easy recipes to assemble and package in jars. Whether you choose something sweet or savory, edible gifts are always appreciated and don’t have to cost much to make!
It’s fun to get my children involved, too. Especially during this time of year, I want to teach them about giving, rather than just receiving. And spending time in the kitchen together is a fun and easy holiday activity for kids. I have fond memories of making holiday treats with my mother and hope my children will feel the same when they are older.
While there are lots of different recipe mixes that you can package as gifts, below are a few recipe ideas to get you started. Your children can help with the measuring, stirring and assembling of the ingredients in jars or containers. Just make sure you keep an eye on their little hands around the chocolate chips and other sweet ingredients!
