Mrs. Stephanie Barfknecht
Mrs. Stephanie Barfknecht
Director
Our Director is Mrs. Stephanie Barfknecht.  She came to Primrose of The Mid-Cities in November of 2006.  She brought with her three years of experience with Primrose, a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childcare Administration from Oklahoma Baptist University, a desire to share in the joys and accomplishments of young children, and her family, husband, Blake, and children Grace, Gunnar, and Gabby.
Working for Primrose School of The Mid-Cities, under the ownership of Terry Taylor, during the summer of 2000 led Mrs. Barfknecht to pursue a degree in Early Childcare.  A few years later, seeking a solution for childcare of her own daughter Grace, Mrs. Barfknecht sought out her previous owner Mr. Taylor.  She became part of his management team at a different location and began  gaining experience with Primrose.
        A word from Mrs. Barfknecht:
"I am excited to be back at Primrose School of The Mid-Cities as an Owner and Director! Looking back on my previous experience here at Mid-Cities I see how much I have learned.  In just that short time I came to know the support that Primrose gives to the families it serves as well as the nurturing environment that our owner Terry Taylor provided.  I knew then that Primrose, and  especially one owned by Mr. Taylor, was a wonderful place that I could entrust my children to their care.  Since having my own daughter in Primrose I have learned even more what a great educational program we have for our children.  Seeing her learn the Signing Program at 12 months, her vocabulary from that program at just 19 months, her physical development through the Thumbs Up! Program through her second year, her math skills from our Preschool program at just three years old, her writing skills through our Pre-Kindergarten program and her love of reading and science from our Kindergarten programs, continues to astound me as a parent.  It is a joy for me as a Director to share in those same milestones with your children."

I have lived in the Dallas/Fort Worth area my whole life.  I currently live in Fort Worth.  I have been married for 3 ½ years to a wonderful guy named Billy.  We have two beautiful kids.  When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family.  I love going shopping; what girl doesn’t.  I am excited to see you and your wonderful child.

Mrs. Annette Williamson
Early Preschool I Lead Teacher

My name is Annette Williamson and I am the Lead teacher of our Early Preschool I class. I am the proud mother of two beautiful daughter and 3 wonderful step children. While working in the “business” world for several years, I was able to come in contact with people from all over. Little did I know that I would go from caring for adults to caring for young children.

I have always wanted to teach children so this is how it all started.  I got my first job in child development with a non-franchised school. I began working with the newborns for several years. Later I was approached by the Director to be the Lead Teacher in the older infants’ class. Of course I accepted the challenge, and this is where I found out what a rewarding profession this can be. Working in this facility is what influenced my decision to continue to work with young children.

I have been with Primrose Schools since 1990. I received my Child Development Associate Credential in 2003. This was a very important milestone in my life, as it helped me to grow in the childcare educational field. I have a strong passion for children and I am looking forward to impacting each child’s life on a daily bases. I feel that education is the foundation of life, and I am privileged to be a part in the educational growth of the future.

Miss. Rachel Harp
Miss. Rachel Harp
Private Kindergarten Lead Teacher
My name is Rachel Harp and I am the Private Kindergarten teacher. I grew up in the DFW Metroplex and moved back recently because I missed being in the suburbs where I spent half my life.  I attended University of North Texas for five years and graduated in May of 2006 with my Bachelors Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies.

I chose teaching because I want to help people, like myself, who struggle in school.  I don’t want any student to feel lost or helpless.  The biggest influence on my life has been my father who always taught me education is the top priority and to always set high goals and work hard for them.

Ms. Maureen Maguire
Lead Teacher Pre-Kindergarden II
My name is Maureen Maguire and I joined the staff of Primrose School in May of 2010. I have been teaching in the Early Childhood Education field for over 30 years, and have held many different positions during that time.

I began my teaching career as an Assistant Teacher then earned my Child Development Associates credential and became a Lead Teacher. Over the years I’ve worked with children ages 6 weeks to 12 years old and eventually became an Assistant Director, then Director.

I’m proficient in sign language and I enjoy incorporating this into the lessons I teach. I find that it adds another layer to the learning process and helps to broaden the children’s classroom experience.

I look forward to spending many happy years here at Primrose School, and getting to know each of the students and families throughout the years. And, I hope that I never get too old to learn something new alongside of my class, both present and future.
