Celebrating 10 years of Excellence

Celebrating 10 years of Excellence (12/10/2007)

HURST, Texas – The Primrose School of The Mid-Cities recently celebrated its 10th anniversary of providing quality child care and early education to parents and families in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Last week, students, teachers and parents commemorated the anniversary by hosting a party which included a special dance by the children, a life-size birthday cake, holiday teas and coffees and an official anniversary ceremony. Children as young as toddlers participated in the event, which culminated with dozens of people, young and old,  joining in singing “Happy Birthday.”
“For 10 years now, our school has helped children develop a natural love of learning. Our programs encourage creativity, curiosity, citizenship and respect among preschoolers.  Every day, we look for new opportunities for our infants, toddlers and private preschool students to discover new ideas and concepts that will help them grow into responsible caring adults,” said Terry Taylor. franchise owner, Primrose School of the Mid-Cities. “We are grateful to our parents, teachers, staff and the entire community who have grown with us over our 10 years here in Hurst. We look forward to continue bringing innovative and exceptional child care and education to our community for years to come.
“In commemoration of our 10th anniversary, we are offering 10 tips for parents to help promote their children’s character this holiday season,” said Taylor. “Character development is integrated in our programming throughout the year, but families put a special focus around the holidays so we’re providing parents with some simple ideas that work.”
Primrose Schools Tips for a More Balanced Holiday Season With Preschoolers:
1.      Set an extra place at dinner for a lonely neighbor
2.      Have your child make a “grateful” list instead of a wish list
3.      Make red holiday bows for neighbors to hang on their front doors
4.      Volunteer to walk dogs at an animal shelter
5.      Donate a turkey to a local pantry
6.      Read to children in a local hospital
7.      Have your child choose one of their new gifts to give to charity
8.      Make holiday cards and bring them to a local senior center
9.      Bake cookies for the staff at a not-for-profit organization
10.      Before your holiday dinner, hold hands and have each person say something they’re thankful for
“We’ve had a lot of fun with our students celebrating our milestone and preparing for the holidays. We’ve made a concerted effort to involve them in the entire process,” said Stephanie Barfknecht, franchise owner at the Mid-Cities school.  “By providing our students with unique experiences and teaching them the importance of caring and giving back to others, we hope these are lessons they will take with them throughout their lives,” she added.
