Dana Griffin has been passionately serving young children and their families since accepting her first Director position in 1994. She joined a regional for-profit child care provider in 1995 as a Center Director but was quickly promoted to a Regional Director, providing operations support for upwards of 12 schools.
Since relocating to Colorado in 2001, she has worked as an Education and Training Specialist, District Manager and Executive Director for a national child care company. She has earned awards for leading with integrity, outstanding customer retention and Director of the Year. She has presented on topics at local child care conferences and at the national conference for the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Dana earned her BA from the University of Rochester, NY and is Large Center Director Qualified in the State of Colorado.
We feel very fortunate to have Dana join the Primrose School at the DTC team, as we work together to provide the highest quality education and care for every child enrolled.
Ashley joins the Primrose School at the DTC management team after serving as the Director for the Primrose School of Wellington in Flower Mound, TX for the past five years. She is extremely familiar with the excellent education and philosophy of Primrose and believes strongly that she can deliver the best educational child care to the community here at the Denver Tech Center.
As a Colorado native and University of Northern Colorado grad, Ashley is excited to be back home and very much looks forward to meeting with you and your family to assist in transitioning your child to the Primrose School at the DTC!

Ms. Angela Huff earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Speech and Language Audiology from the University of Northern Colorado. She spent six years as a teacher working with children ages 6 weeks through preschool on both the Langley and Buckley Air Force Base. Ms. Huff joined our Primrose – DTC team at the beginning of the 2013 – 2014 school year as an Assistant Teacher while she finished her Early Childhood Teacher and Infant Nursery Supervisor qualifications. Ms. Huff’s primary teaching assignment is with our Infant program.
Ms. Marzzieh Farzam earned her degree in obstetrics in Iran and was a practicing midwife in both Iran and Italy prior to immigrating to the United States with her husband, son and daughter back in 2001. She is Early Childhood Teacher qualified and has over 6 years of experience teaching infants and toddlers in a licensed child care setting. Ms. Farzam is a Primary Teacher with our Infant program.
Ms. LaTanya Rose joined our Primrose – DTC team during the Summer of 2013. Ms. Rose is Early Childhood Teacher qualified with over five years of experience as an Infant Teacher for other licensed child care programs along with college level coursework in Early Childhood Education. Ms. Rose is a Primary Teacher for our Infant programs.
Ms. Maria Szakos is Early Childhood Teacher Qualified completed the required work hours and college level coursework to earn her Infant Nursery Supervisor qualification as well. All of Ms. Szakos’ experience working with young children in a licensed child care setting has been teaching and caring for children ages 6 weeks to 2 years. Ms. Szakos has been trained as an Auxiliary Teacher and will focus primarily on supporting the Infant and Toddlerclassrooms.
Ms. Teresa Johnson has her Associates Degree from Mt. San Antonio College, CA and completed her Early Childhood Education coursework through Arapahoe Community College. Ms. Johnson spent over six years with a corporate child care company as a teacher, Assistant Director and Center Director. Ms. Johnson joined our team at the beginning of the 2013 – 2014 school year.
Ms. Johnson is a Primary Infant Teacher and also will assist with administrative duties as needed.
Ms. Kelly Murphy graduated from CSU with a degree in Human Development and Family Studies. She is currently in school to earn her Master’s Degree. Ms. Murphy transferred to our Primrose School prior to our Grand Opening. Ms. Murphy brings her knowledge of Primrose’s Balanced Learning ® philosophy and her passion for teaching children under the age of 18 months to our Primrose School. Ms. Murphy is a Primary Teacher and serves as the Supervisor of our Infant Programs.
Ms. Sabbagh joined our teaching team in January of 2014. She attended the Community College of Aurora to complete coursework in Early Childhood Education and earn her Early Childhood Teacher qualifications. Her previous work experience includes Lead and Assistant Teacher roles working with children under the age of 3 at two licensed child care programs. In addition, she also taught Arabic to children ages 5 to 15 on a part-time basis. Ms. Sabbagh also has 4 children of her own ranging in age from 7 years to 16 years.
Ms. Sabbagh is currently serving as an Auxiliary Teacher supporting programs for children ages 2 and younger. She will transition to a Primary Teaching role by spring of this year.
Ms. Rosin earned her bachelor’s degree in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences and spent six years as a Speech & Language Pathology Assistant for Aurora Public Schools in their Early Childhood and Elementary programs. She has completed college level Early Childhood Education coursework to earn her Early Childhood Teacher qualifications. Ms. Rosin is a Primary Teacher for our Toddler programs.
Laura Naus joined our teaching staff shortly after our school opened. She is Early Childhood Teacher qualified and is in school to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Metro State University. Ms. Naus has worked in child care for over five years and was recommended to Primrose School at the Denver Tech Center by several parents of her former students. Ms. Naus is a Primary Teacher for our Toddler program.
Ms. Gonzalez joined our teaching team at the beginning of 2014. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education/Early Childhood Special Education from Brigham Young University – Idaho. She served as a nanny prior to attending college and while attending BYU – Idaho she held a position as a Developmental Paraprofessional working with young children with special needs. Upon graduation she worked as a Developmental Specialist and Service Coordinator for Easter Seals, Nevada. She relocated to Colorado at the end of 2013.
Ms. Gonzalez is a Primary Teacher for our Toddler Blue classroom.
Ms. Hayden joined our teaching team at the end of 2013. Ms. Hayden earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Washington. During her college years she served as a Program Assistant and Day Camp Counselor providing education and care to young children for the local Parks Department and Boys and Girls Club. She is currently enrolled in classes to earn her Early Childhood Teacher qualification for the State of Colorado.
Ms. Hayden is an Assistant Auxiliary Teacher supporting the Infant and Toddler programs.
Ms. Emily Steen earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and recently relocated to Denver to attend Graduate School. Ms. Steen has prior experience as a Lead Preschool and Lead Infant Teacher. She joined the Primrose – DTC team as an Assistant Auxiliary Teacher primarily supporting the Infant and Toddler programs.
Ms. Christine Rubbo has worked in the Early Childhood Education field for 7 years and loves working with children ages 2 and under. She earned both her Early Childhood Teacher Qualification and Infant Nursery Supervisor Qualification prior to joining our Primrose team. She is a Primary Teacher for our Early Preschool program.
Ms. Tina Carlevato joined the Primrose School at the Denver Tech Center in the Summer of 2013. She has her Associates Degree from Arapahoe Community College and has worked as an Assistant Teacher in a licensed child care setting. She has volunteered for Reach Out and Read and the Special Olympics. Ms. Carlevato is an Assistant Teacher for our Early Preschool Programs.
Ms. Carrie Powell joined out teaching staff at the beginning of the 2013 – 2014 school year. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education from Metropolitan State College of Denver . Ms. Powell has served as a Teacher’s Aide, Teacher and Caregiver to children in both a licensed child care and private elementary school setting. She is an Auxiliary Teacher primarily working with our Early Preschool, Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten programs.
Ms. Kathleen Chambers graduated from Regis University with a Masters in Specialized Education with Teacher Licensure and a Masters in Creative Writing with an emphasis in art and music therapy. She is in the process of being certified as a Child Life Specialist at CSU and certified as a clinical musician with Harps for Healing, LLC. My BA is in Youth Guidance. Ms. Chambers has five years of experience working in the early childhood education field. She taught English in China and also taught one year of high school with at-risk youth. Ms. Chambers is a Primary Teacher for our Early Preschool Programs.
Ms. May joined our teaching team at the beginning of the 2013 – 2014 school year. She earned her BA from Metropolitan State College of Denver after completing an Associates Degree in ECE from the Community College of Aurora. Ms. May has her Professional Teacher’s License, in addition to her Early Childhood Teacher and Infant Nursery Supervisor qualifications. She has taught elementary school for Denver Public Schools and a private academy. She also has previous experience teaching children ages 6 weeks to 5 years in licensed child care programs. Ms. May is a Primary Teacher for our Early Preschool programs.
Ms. Casullo joined our teaching team in January of 2014. Ms. Casullo earned her dual Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Human Development /Family Studies and Business Administration. She was a nanny throughout college and completed a teaching internship with a sister Primrose School during the summer of 2013.
Ms. Casullo is currently serving as an Auxiliary Teacher and will support all classrooms and age groups here at Primrose DTC. She will transition to a Primary Teaching position as student enrollment requires.
Ms. Schmidt joined our team at the end of 2013. She is currently attending the University of Northern Colorado Center for Urban Development to earn her degree in Early Childhood Education. She has prior experience as a nanny, lifeguard and children’s swim instructor.
Ms. Schmidt is an Assistant Auxiliary Teacher primarily supporting the Early Preschool Program.
Ms. Lisa Fleming grew up in Fargo, North Dakota and earned a B.S. in Elementary Education. She decided she wanted to be a teacher from the time she was in middle school and has never wavered from that desire and passion. She moved to Colorado in 1982 and was a substitute teacher for 10 years for preschool through 6th grade. She spent 2009 – 2012 as a preschool teacher for Aurora Public Schools prior to joining our team. Ms. Fleming is a Primary Teacher for our Preschool Program.
Ms. Challapalli earned her BA and MBA in India. Once she immigrated to the United States, she earned her Early Childhood Teacher qualifications through Arapahoe Community College. For over five years, she taught preschool for a mixed age group of students ages 2½ to 6.
Ms. Challapalli is an Auxiliary Teacher for the Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten programs.
Ms. McConnell joined our teaching team at the beginning of the 2013 – 2014 school year. She earned her Early Childhood Teacher qualification in 2011 and has been employed in the field of Early Childhood Education since 2007. Ms. McConnell has provided care and education for children ages 2 to 13. Ms. McConnell is an Auxiliary Teacher providing support to the Early Preschool and Preschool Programs.
Ms. Kathleen (Katie) Palmquist graduated from the University of Colorado in August 2103 with her BA in Early Childhood Education. While attending school she worked as an Early Childhood Teacher developing and implementing lesson plans for a classroom of mixed ages 2 ½ to 5 years. Prior to that, she was employed as a Teacher’s Aid providing education and care to children ages 1 ½ to 5 years.
Ms. Palmquist joined the Primrose – DTC teaching staff at the beginning of the 2013 – 2014 school year. She is a Primary Teacher for the Preschool Program.
Ms. Smelter joined our teaching team at the beginning of the 2013 – 2014 school year. She earned her BA in Elementary Education/Special Education from the University of Arizona, Flagstaff. Ms. Smelter worked at a Primrose School as an Assistant Teacher during her breaks from school. After completing her degree, she taught in the public schools prior to relocating from Arizona. Ms. Smelter is a Primary Teacher in our Pre-Kindergarten Program.
Ms.Scheibe joined our teaching team at the beginning of the 2013 – 2014 school year. She earned her BA from Columbia College Chicago with an Early Childhood Education Minor. She has been a teacher and Artistic Director for a Chicago-based children recreation center and a teacher for a private preschool. Ms. Scheibe is a Primary Teacher for our Pre-Kindergarten program.
Ms. Anita Durham is Early Childhood Teacher qualified with over ten years of experience teaching children ages 3 and younger. She completed ECE coursework through Arapahoe Community College. She joined the Primrose – DTC team at the beginning of the 2013 – 2014 school year. While qualified as a Lead Teacher, Ms. Durham serves a Naptime Nanny/Teacher’s Aide.
Ms. Wilkins joined our team at the beginning of 2014 as a part-time Administrative Assistant. Prior to joining Primrose DTC, Ms. Wilkins worked 23 years as a receptionist and school nurse delegate for Englewood Public School District. Ms. Wilkins will be available each day from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. to greet families, answer phones and support the teachers and management team as needed.
Ms. Tonia DeWitt is the Chef for Primrose School at the Denver Tech Center. She is responsible for preparing and serving all of the meals offered throughout the day. Ms. DeWitt has experience working in the food service industry as a baker and line cook. To best support our school, Ms. DeWitt has been trained both as a Chef and as a Teacher’s Aide to provide assistance wherever needed.
