Safety
At Primrose, we understand how important safety is to a parent's peace of mind. That's why we maintain the highest standards of safety and security for your child. Daily, our school management team monitors each classroom to update status on children and classroom activities. Additionally every staff member receives training in CPR, first aid and fire safety. Our schools also employ the latest child-proofing advances such as safety-hinge protected classroom doors, separate age appropriate playground equipment and each school has a secure entry and check-in procedure.
Once your child is enrolled at a Primrose School, you'll have access to our Safe School Plan. This plan enables parents to access real-time urgent alerts via the school’s website. Our Safe School Plan is in place at every school and in every classroom providing every staff member with training and appropriate procedures to follow that will help prevent or handle an emergency should one occur.
Physical Development
We don't just exercise young minds and hearts, we provide a strong foundation for a healthy lifestyle. Our Thumbs Up!sm program was designed by early childhood fitness and development expert, Dr. Steve Sanders. Daily schedules in all classes include time for teachers to conduct the developmentally sequenced activities that help children build fundamental physical skills that can lead to a desire to be physically active. Thumbs Up! Lessons are always introduced with an engaging "Warm Up" activity and concluded with a "Cool Down" time that consists of deep breathing and relaxation exercises.
Technology
The great educator John Dewey once wrote, "If we teach today like we did yesterday, we rob our children of the future." We live in a digital age, and we believe that it's important for Primrose teachers to begin helping children build a strong foundation for relevant, real-world technology use early on. Carefully selected educational software and Internet sites act as catalysts for social interaction, language growth, and cognitive development in our Preschool, Pre-K, Kindergarten, and Explorer classrooms. Students create their own artwork, designs, and stories using educational software programs such as KIDWARE® and Scholastic Keys® for Microsoft® Word, Power Point, and Excel.
Enriching Experiences
We go beyond your basic ABCs and 123s, we also explore exciting areas such as computer technology, sign language, Spanish, music, and more. But we don’t stop with just these. Character development is at the heart of our curriculum and culture. Every day, children learn the importance of cooperation, friendship, generosity, honesty, and simply how to be a good friend. Many local programs, including our Caring and Giving and Community Outreach programs help to bring these concepts alive for our children.
Partnering with Parents
We’re in this together. As a Primrose Parent, you’ll receive frequent communications from your child’s teachers. Monthly and weekly newsletters keep you informed of classroom news. Personalized daily reports let you know of your child’s progress. Plus, our teachers are always available for parent-teacher conferences. Of course you’re welcome to visit your school at any time. And we look forward to seeing you at open houses and family events throughout the year.
As your child becomes more independent, the partnership continues with our expanded programs. Our After School Program provides structured age appropriate activities and designated time for homework completion. Our Summer Camp is made up of exciting themed sessions coordinated to both entertain and fully engage your child. Our parents love Primrose and can be sure that our programs provide their children with the most effective learning and development opportunities.
