Did You Know?
You may have seen recent reports regarding the replacement of cribs in child care, hospitality and hospitals, as well as the entire United States. New standards have been developed and approved by the Consumer Product Safety Commission. This is an unprecedented decision by the Consumer Product Safety Commission in that it requires all stock to be replaced by the owner instead of a recall in which the manufacturer must replace the product. We always purchase industry-standard materials and equipment in our schools, and we welcome a new safety standard.
While the deadline for compliance on this important safety initiative is the end of 2012, we are pleased to announce that we have already replaced 100% of our cribs and comply with the new safety standards.
What you may not know is this new standard and mandatory replacement applies to cribs purchased for home use as well. For more information on this please visit www.cpsc.gov.
